1. Great workouts motivate me to eat perfectly. Tuna fish goes down easier. Cottage cheese tastes great (as long as it’s blended), I even look forward to my good night shake.
2. I look forward to that sore feeling that comes from a great workout. If I don’t feel it the next day (even mildly), I’ve done something wrong.
3. I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s back workout.
4. Naruto really is that good.

I was contemplating an ode to oats in this blog, but I’m too tired for cheesy right now. Instead I’ll spend a few seconds talking about cravings (or lack thereof), before I take a nappie.
It’s been a while since I’ve had a craving. I wouldn’t mind having one right now, but I can’t think of anything I desperately want.
McDonalds?-No
Candy?-Not today
Chocolate?-Not even on a good day
Cheesecake?-The thought of it sounds good, but I prefer to make my own, and I’m feeling a bit lazy right now.
OK, I’m done. Think I’ll take a nap, and then go mow the lawn.

I can’t believe how much I’m enjoying this year’s bulk. Each week I’m progressing at a rate I didn’t think I had in me.
Today’s chest workout was better than last weeks. Once again nothing but raves for the dumbbell presses.
As always, I made it a point to start off five pounds heavier than last weeks start, and add on five pounds each set. My goals for reps were 12, 10, 8, 6- my results were 13, 9, 8, 7 (I may have not rested enough before my second set). Next week my working sets will be 10,8,6,4- and I will start off with a weight five pounds heavier than the weight I did for 10 reps today.
Nothing unusual about incline presses today, but on weighted dips, I found the five pound increase to the weights unusually light. I now need to take into consideration the fact that I’m doing weighted dips on triceps days as well, and make sure to increase to a heavier than usual weight.
After dumbbell flyes, I moved on to calves. After barbell raises and SL dumbbell raises, I couldn’t believe how large my calves had become. I was tempted to measure them, but refrained (Stick to the scedule).
Cardio after that, then shower!

1. Old episodes of Spongebob are 10X better than new episodes of Spongebob.
2. Green tea rocks!
3. People who think their training method should be the only training method in existence make me smile.
4. Chest day tomorrow.
5. I’d rather be here.

It’s only 2:00 and I’m already on my sixth meal. Each of the meals have been small and quick (go lean with raisins and milk, shakes, etc.) but have filled me up at the time.
At this rate, I’m going to have to consume a power bar.

What to do? What to do?
Today I tipped the scales at 206.5! That’s an increase of 3 and a half pounds this week. By that number alone, I should be cutting back on my nutrition. But there are some other factors to consider.
1. My numbers (Post Work Out):
Chest: 43 1/2
Waist: 33
Legs: 26 1/4
Arm: 17 1/4
Calves: 15+
Forearm: 13 1/4
2. The Mirror
I’m still not worried with what I see. In the mirror, I widened out in all the right places. My waist grew a bit, but so to did my back and chest. My abs (obliques and all) have better definition than last year’s bulk at this time. I still have striations in my back, and I just don’t feel I’m putting on all that much fat.
To that end, I once again plan on sticking with my original bulking diet.
I’ll measure myself again in two weeks, but this time it will be upon waking, and not post workout.

Everything’s smooth sailing today. I’ve had my shakes, my vitamins, a heaping helping of attitude (courtesy of one child), and a side of Boy Meets World.
All I need now is a nap.

Now that I think about it, I always sleep poorly when the weather changes to cold. I eventually get used to being awake for a few hours every night, but the transition from sleeping all night, to borderline insomnia is what kills me.
I’m in that transition.
Anyhoo, on to shoulders.
Last week, I felt I didn’t do my shoulders justice. I didn’t want to overtrain them, but I was determined to not leave until I couldn’t lift my arms.
I began with dumbbell presses, one arm at a time, to make sure my right side didn’t dominate, like it seems to when I’m not focused.
Then I moved on to barbell presses, and I kept at it until my arms were on fire (four heavy sets).
Not taking any chances, I moved into upright barbell rows to give my side delts some action.
After that, rear laterals to keep my rear delts in line with the rest, and then front raises.
I could barely move my arms, but I wasn’t done. I now moved on to traps. Front barbell shrugs and behind the back barbell shrugs, until I was wishing my traps had support.
I was moving pretty quickly, so I finished off by hanging with weights for a few sets, then cardio.
OOOWWWWW!!!

For the past two days, I’ve noticed that 1) I can’t eat as much in one sitting as I have in the past, and 2) I’m getting hungry faster than usual. I now find myself eating every couple of hours. Not a biggie. I can live with that.
I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s shoulder workout. I’m eager to see what more rest and being relocated away from heavy leg day will do for my traps.
