Week 2: Day 3 Arms

Well I finally got to get in the gym today…and boy was it packed!! School was closed again due to ice but the rec center was still open…it was sooooo crazy in there.  Just plain ridiculous.  I still got in a great arm workout, I can already feel them getting sore on the night of the workout…not too shabby.  Anyways I wanted to finish with some wrist curls but there was no place open to do them oh well.  Anyways I started with barbell curls and did 4 sets there finishing with 2 sets of 145 for 6 reps i believe, then moved onto hammer strength preacher curl for 3 sets of 12 squeezes and then finished with 3 sets of 12 hammer curls.  Moved onto overhead cable triceps press for like 4 sets with hte last being 6 at close to the rack.  Then did triceps push downs for the same thing, and finished with seated press downs for sets of like 12-15.  It went well.  So here is the diet today

Meal 1: 5 egg whites, 2 yolks, 1 cup oatmeal, 1 cup fat free milk, 6 oz banana
Meal 2: 6 oz chicken breast, 9 oz potato
Meal 3: 1 scoop ON protein, 6 oz apple
pre workout: 1 Animal Pump pak
workout
Meal 4: post workout shake
post workout: 5 grams creatine (Universal storm)
Meal 5: 5 egg whites, 2 yolks, 1 1/2 cups brown rice, 1 sam adams light
Meal 6: 1 can tuna, 7.5 oz potato
Meal 7: 2 wheat toast, 4 oz chicken
Meal 8: 1 scoop ON cassein protein, 1 cup fat free milk

Calories: 3400
Carbs:    444
Fats       48
Protein    305

I didn’t count the beer in those facts but it’s about the same.  So that was my day…pretty good. I weighed in about 254 today…down some but that’s ok.  It feels good to stay on the healthy track.  Later y’all.

Week 2: Day 2 Off and Ice

Well today I wanted to do arms and i was rearing to go but low and behold my car was iced over from the freezing rain..ugh. so i had to just sit home and watch a movie and some basketball like every other turd in America.  Anyways diet was total about 350 carbs, 60 fat, and 250 protein a little low but I dont mind because I didn’t lift.  I’ll have a better post for you later. peace

Week 2: Day 1 Shoulders

well today was a nasty one…all icy and freezing outside. oh well.  here is what hte diet looked like

Meal 1: 5 egg whites, 2 yolks, 6 oz banana, 1 cup oatmeal, 1 cup fat free milk
Meal 2: 1 scoop ON protein, 6 oz apple
Meal 3: 1 bag ff popcorn, 7 oz chicken breast
Meal 4: Post workout shake
Meal 5: 6 egg whites, 3 yolks, 1 1/4 cup brown rice
Meal 6: 1 can tuna, 8 oz potato
Meal 7: 1 cup fat free milk, 1 scoop cassein protein

Calories: 3214
Carbs      411
Fats        52
Protein    278

workout was quick today because the rec closed early. did hammer strength shoulder press with the finals set of 180 on each side for 6 reps and a drop of 90 for 10…then superseted some side raises with rear delt raises…thats it for today i’m out

Day 7: Back

Today was my full day back in College Station.  It was sooo cold outside I did not want to get out of my bed this morning.  I tried to get up for church, but I didn’t…which I feel bad about and I’ve got a test on Tuesday so I’ve been trying to study for that.  Today I’ve pretty much just studied, slept, worked out and ate…with a little football in there ;) .  Anyways diet has been spot on today and here is what it looks like with the last 2 meals I haven’t eaten yet but it’s what I will eat

Meal 1: 5 egg whites, 2 yolks, 2 wheat toast, 1 cup oatmeal, 1 cup fat free milk
Meal 2: 1 scoop ON protein, 1 cup fat free milk, 6 oz apple
Meal 3: 8 oz chicken breast, 8.5 oz potato
Workout
Meal 4: Post workout shake (2 scoops ON protein, 47 grams dextrose, 50 grams carbo gain)
Meal 5: 5 egg whites, 2 yolks, 1 3/4 cup brown rice
Meal 6: 1 can Tuna, 1 bag fat free popcorn
Meal 7: 1 ON cassein protein, 1 cup fat free milk

Calories: 3464
Carbs: 463      (53%)
Fat:    51        (13%)
Protein: 295    (34%)

It looks like my fats are a little low, I’ll throw in something else to help that out to come.  Since today was Back I had high carbs…I still consider it one of my weak areas even after putting on some size this winter break
  Back at the REC center today, and I’ve already seen some of the old faces, some new morons, and some cute chics as well….so everything is back to normal there.  As I said today was Back and hers the gist of things.  I started out with Hammer strength seated Rows…with a horizontal grip  I did 4 working sets and a drop there going up to I think it was 5 plates on each side…there was no room left whatever it was.  Then I moved over to the high hammer sternght row where you pull em down.  Did 4 sets there with the last one being for 5 with 230lbs on each side…after that it was over to the close grip pull downs where I did 3 sets of 10-8..then I did some hyperextions 3 sets of 25…and finished with some lighter seated cable rows of 20 15 and 12.  My back was pretty lit up after this so I was happy with the workout.  Anyways not sure what’s tomorrow but i’ll figure it out.. I gotta buy my books and keep studyin for my last test in ISB.  
  That’s it for now I’ll be back tomorrow with another update…oh yah I was 256 with nothing on cept shorts tonite….I’m happy with that…Peace

Day 6: Rest and back at school

January 13, 2007

Well today I drove back to Texas A&M at about 11am.  It rained the entire time we drove and didn’t let up all night even when I got here.  IT was a horrible drive in that sense but a good one in that fact that I had my buddy there chillin’ with me for the 2 hour 45 min drive.  I pretty much unpacked crap went shopping for the food and then went to sleep.  I went to a BBQ at my brothers house tonite and it was gooood eatin…of course I cheated a little bit but whatever.  I still feel like I’m back in the swing of things
   Tomorrow I get serious about it with weighing foods and keeping track of everything…you will see when I do my daily intake write up.  I think I’m going to do back tomorrow…but I’ve got to study for my test on tuesday!!!! ahh.  Anyways I hope I can keep all my size I’ve put on and just keep on keepin on.  I’m out..peace

Day 5: Chest and lots of stuff to think about

Ok well lemme get the workout part of this over with first.  I did chest today.  I worked out w/o John today because of his bicep he is resting for another week or so.  It was my last workout in SA and it was a decent one.  I started out with Smith incline press and did 2 warm up sets then a set of 12 10 8 and 6 with the last one being 315 give or take since it’s on a Smith Machine.  It really lit up my chest.  Then I went to the flat press hammer strength  where I did sets of 12 10 6 drop 8.  After that I moved over to incline hammer strength doing squeezes with sets of 10-12.  Then moved over to the decline hammer strength for the same thing.  Finished up with cable cross overs for 3 sets of 12 hard squeezes.  My chest was blown at the begining that Animal Pump is crazy stuff.  A buddy of mine was there that I hadn’t see in a while so we talked for a while which slowed my workout down but I wanted to catch up.  It also threw off post workout stuff but it’s cool.
   Diet was good all day cept for a cheat meal at Taco Cabana tonite not too bad though didn’t go crazy.  Same old stuff pretty much fats may have been al ittle high with the queso and tortillas.  
   Well I went over finances with the parents tonight for the upcoming semester at Texas A&M, and man I feel kinda bad.  I moved into a more expenive place this past semester, didn’t have a job for alot of summer and told my dad I could handle things.  Turns out I couldn’t.  He’s gonna have to spot me quite a bit.  He doensn’t mind though.  God has blessed our family and my dad said he is happy to help me.  I just feel bad…I’m making some adjustments next semester for sure…this also means the show in May is a no go unless I find a sponser.  It just kinda got me down earlier because he seemed a little depressed over it, but I’m feeling better and I hope things look better in the morning for him.
   I leave for A&M tomorrow morning with a buddy of mine who I might actually live with next semster we shall see.  It’s been a good offseason of growing, it’ll be fun to be back at A&M i think…hopefully I can just keep the grades up and not spend any more money than is necessary.  Peace

Day 4: Legs

Howdy y’all,

     Well today was a really good workout.  Me and my workout partner for only 1 more day :( scored it as an 8/10.  We started out with squats…we wanted to go heavy.  warmed up with 135 then bumped to 225 for 15, then 315 for 10, then 405 for 8, and the last set was the heaviest i’ve ever gone on squats with 455 for 6 reps…all of these sets are to parallel mind you.  Let’s see…after that we moved over to standing leg curls for 3 sets of 12 there.  Leg extensions were next where we did 3 sets of 10 squeezes for 1-2 seconds.  Moved onto to lying leg curls for squeezes of 3 sets of 12…that really pumped my hammies up surprisingly.  Then did machine leg press for sets of 20, 15, and 12 and finished out with some calves…all in all a very good workout mainly because of the heavy squats and lying leg curls.
   I woke up late again today so my diet was clean i just dont know if I got enough in here is what it was as far as I can remmber.. I didn’t write it all down

Meal 1: 6 egg whites, 3 yolks, 2 wheat toast, 1 cup ff milk, 1 cup oats
Meal 2: 8 oz chicken breast, decent sized potato ( i dont have my scale with me), 6 oz banana

Meal 3: Mass Recovery shake
Meal 4: 9 oz chicken, 2 wheat toast, 2 medium potatos
Meal 5: 1 cup fat free milk, 1 ON protein, 1 bag ff popcorn, 5 oz banana
Meal 6: 1 can tuna, 12 crackers

It looks pretty good actually. maybe a little low on the protein but it’s cool.  I ordered all my supplemetns and they arrived at my house in College Station today…my roomate called and was like what did you order? it’s freakin heavy…lol…lots of protein and other stuff.  Anyways hopefully I can walk in the next few days…I would like to get in a chest workout tomorrow sometime we’ll see.
   I head back to Texas A&M on saturday morning, so I will probably not workout that day…maybe I will I dunno.  Anyways  if anyone is reading this and finds it interesting lemme know lol.  Alright I’m out later.

Day 3: Nothing special

Well today I didn’t lift.  Mainly because my workout partner is injured and I wanted to take a rest before hitting legs hard.  We went to Chinese buffet haha  and I ate healthy…amazing i know…cept for a little pudding and jello, but it doesn’t hurt to cheat every now and then.  I"m thinking I want to get some Lipo 6x to help with the cut.  I will use it once I get back into a strict routine though, so as I dont waste it when I’m not super strict.  Diet is pretty much the same today besides the post workout shake not being there and the buffet.  Alright peace

Day 2 Arms and injuries

Well today was the 2nd day of my cleaned up diet.  It feels good to be eating healthy again.  It was weird at the gym I was 256 today down 4 lbs from yesterday…strange but nothing I’m worried about.  today we worked out arms and my workout partner hurt his bicep on the first exercise barbell curls.  I thought he was moving up too fast in weight without proper warmup and we both heard a pop when he was doing 145 for reps sooo he’s gonna be out for a little while.  I had to finish up without him…it sucks cause this was our last week to workout together before i head back to Texas A&M.
   So anyways my workout was barbell curls going up to a set of 8 with 155, then I did some hammer curls 3 sets of 10-8 up to 65s.  After that it was straight sets of 12 with incline seated curls with 35s gettin good squeezes on all of em.  I moved onto triceps push downs and did 4 sets of 12-6 doing the stack i believe on my last one.  Then seated overhead cable extensions with 3 sets of 10 and finished with reverse cable pulldowns 3 sets of 20 15 and 12.  I felt like I got a good one in today.
  Here is what today looked like from the kitchen

Meal 1: 6 egg whites, 3 yolks, 6 oz banana, 1 cup fat free milk, 1 cup oats
Meal 2: 7 oz chicken breast, 8 oz potato
Meal 3: Post workout shake
Meal 4: 6 egg whites, 3 yolks, 1 3/4 cup brown rice
Meal 5: 1 can tuna, 10 crackers, 1 bag fat free popcorn
Meal 6: 1 cup fat free milk, 1 scoop ON protein

Calories: 3400
Carbs: 450
Fats: 66
Protein: 295

That’s it for now tomorrow I think is going to be legs not sure…I’m going to start throwing in some light cardio to get back into that.  By the way the supplements I"m taking right now are as follows

Optimum Nutrition Whey Protein
Animal Pump
Dextrose and Malatrose (sp?)
Cassein Protein
Universal Storm

I need to find a good BCAA to try and help with preserving muscle mass, I think I’m going to get Xtend.  If anyone has any suggestions or comments feel free.  I’m out.

Shoulders and clean diet

Well, I decided to start posting in here again…one for my records and two for anyone who cares besides me…hopefully some of y’all will read and tell me what you think.  Anyways today was the first day I’m actually back to eating healthy again.  I’ve been eating a lot and a lot of crap as well over this Christmas break.  I’m thinking about competing in a show on the 5th of May but haven’t decided yet and I need to clean up my diet now just in case I decide to get on that.
   My thoughts about how I want to go about this is carb cycling.  It worked very well for me last time and I will do it again this time.  I’m shooting for about 300 grams of protein a day and about 15-25% fats each day.  By the way I weigh around 260 so I’m eating a little more than 1 gram per lb of bodyweight.  I get the rest for carbs which I will cycle high on Legs and Back; medium on shoulders, arms, and chest, and low on off days.  I’m gonna introduce cardio back in slowly at probably 30 min 2x a week.  I really want to try ad hold onto this size that I’ve put on this time.  You can all see the supplements I’m taking on the bodyspace page as well.
  Here is what today looks like in terms of diet:
Meal 1 (10am): 6 egg whites, 3 yolks, 1 cup oats, 1 cup fat free milk, 5 oz banana

Meal 2:  (12pm): 5 oz chicken, 8 oz potato

Meal 3: (3pm)1 ON protein, 6 oz apple

Meal 4: PWS

Meal 5 (7pm) 6 egg whites, 3 yolks, 1.5 cups rice

Meal 6: (9pm) 1 can of Tuna, 4 oz potato

Meal 7: (11pm) 1 bag fat free popcorn, 4 oz chicken breast

Meal 8: (1am) 1 protein, 1 cup ff meal

Calories     3575
Carbohydrates 454
Fats              61
Protein             301

We worked out shoulders today.  I haven’t started recording our workouts yet but we did seated side raises, heavy smith press last heavy set was 275 x 7, then cable bar front raises, rear delt raises, and finished with light cable side raises.  We lightened the load and went with 15-20 rep ranges at the end but stayed heavy through only because we were coming off a 3 day break…needed a break…a little over training.
   That’s it for now, hopefully I can post in this thing daily so y’all can keep up with me. I gotta hit the books. Later y’all
