Clean Bulking

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

Most of my time with bodybuilding has been aimed at losing fat. I wanted the abs and the cuts, and I pretty much got where I wanted to be. But now my goal is to add some muscle. Basically I am now trying to bulk. However, I lost all that fat once, and I really don’t want it to revisit. So does anyone have good advice on clean bulking? Is it pretty much just eat more of the good foods and keep your protein high? Any information about would be appreciated.

Nearing 30

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

First, how did that happen? Last thing I knew I was graduating high school and now all of a sudden I am approaching my third decade. I remember when 22 was old. And I left that age behind years ago. But for all that, I can say one thing. I am in far better shape than I was at 20 or even 16. Truthfully, when I began working out, I never thought I would have abs. I assumed I would be overweight and never get the physique I wanted. I could never look like a bodybuilder or a model or whoever was in shape. But I learned. I learned about routines, nutrition, and how to love cardio. And it worked. Sounds simple, but it did. Now I just have to aim to be even better at 40.

Dedication

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

As many others on Bodyspace get asked, I am asked how to get in shape, lose fat, or gain muscle quite often. Most people already know at least some of the answer. McDonald’s and other fast food places are not going to help lose the gut nor is watching TV for hours going to build muscle, but the real key that people miss is dedication. To reach any physical goal one has to have the drive and will to keep pushing until the goal is reached. Nothing else can replace simply hitting the gym regularly or pushing away that donut not matter how often friends try and talk you into eating it. And it takes time. It takes a while to build good quality muscle, and it takes a good while to drop the fat, especially the last few pounds. So for anyone just starting out, keep going day after day and week after week. The results will come.
