confused, need some help

well i use to lift heavier weights before. i was gaining strength like crazy but my muscles were not getting bigger. but now since i moved all the down to light weights my  strength went down but my muscle growth increased alittle. maybe i am doing something wrong. does anyone know of what i should do?

Try putting the two together. Depending on your body composition and genetics, typically going heavy will train your nervous system more and going lighter will induce hypertrophy more. Try training somewhere in the middle if you want the best of both worlds, or just stick to one or the other depending on your goals. If you want size, stick to lighter and higher volume. If you want strength, keep it heavy and low rep.

There is a difference between mass training and strength training. If your end goal is to be bigger than keep with what is working!

sometimes i will incorporate the two into a workout. example:
I will do a light warmup up 20 reps slow and focused. then i will do a heavy set of 5. then i will lessen the load a little and do 10 reps. my last set is a rest paused set of 3×3. go very heavy and do 3 reps. rack it and rest for 10 to 15 seconds, then do 3 more. rack it and rest again, then do the last 3 followed by some stretching. This works well for me but i still switch it up. some weeks i will do 5 sets of 5 or do some doggcrapp training which is a different type of rest paused training. Hope ive helped a little. good luck.
