New to Body Building

Howdy all…

So…to start off, a lil bou me. Im 19 years old and a college student. I played basketball in highshool, and though I was never that fabulous at it, I loved it. Agression and strength were never my strong suits in the game, but I lost quite a bit of weight during my bball playing days. After that, my coach advised me to quit because I was not very agressive on the court, and because of some knee problemos I had. So I did, and on came the weight that I lost-due to partying and late night fast food and the like. So here I am, three years later, and have been trying to lose weight not very successfully for the past two years by running and dieting on and off. I would get into a routine of running for a month or two, and then fall off the wagon for various reasons. My mom had a hysterectmia(sp?), I fainted while running in the heat, boredom, etc etc…lol.

In the past five or sixth months, I began picking up Oxygen and Muscle and Fitness Hers mags and became realy inspired by these women whol looked so strong and fit. and everything I read through research on the net said that weight lifting was the key to fat loss. I began to weight lift a few months ago in my university gym follwing routines in oxy and bb.com. I love how strong and empowered it makes me feel.

I think the hardest thing for me is eating clean. I can lift and run all I want, but without the diet, I kno I am screwed! Its taken me quite a while to realize that, but Im getting there! So this is something Im trying to really focus on right now. Just because I worked my butt off today in the gym, does not mean I can have half a pizza tonight. lol

So, I lifted weights yesterday after I got out of my summer classes, and really focused on what I was doing. I upped my squats by ten lbs, and am really feeling it today! still feeling pretty weak, and realizing I have no muscle whatsoever. but Im getting there. I hate lifting these tiny weights when everyone around me is lifting fifty lbs dumbells! anyhow…im out now. gotta get up early tommorow. :)

tex
