Happy New Year

Sunday, December 31st, 2006

I am having a great day.  My birthday is coming up and I recieved an early birthday surprize.

I started taking CLA today.  I’m not sure exactly how it is suppose to work, but today a few more hungry than usual.  I have been eating my meals a couple of hours apart as oppose to every three hours. I ate pretty normal so far

Meal one was an egg, 5 egg whites, and a red potato

Meal 2 was a cup of oatmeal and a scoop of protein powder

Meal 3 was a lot of lettuce and 3 oz of turkey breast

Meal 4 a protein shake

Meal 5 will be lasagna and champagne

We’re going to a friends house for an early New Year’s dinner.  I should be leaving now.  I just wanted to update my blog.  Why am I so hungry?

My first clean Saturday

Saturday, December 30th, 2006

Usually, Saturday means we eat out or drink.  Basically, it’s my cheat day, but not today.  It was hard to adjust to the change, but I think limiting myself to one or two cheat meals a week will help me get to the next level.  The only problem I had today was not eating enough. So I’m going to squeeze in another protein shake, a sweet potato, and a handful of almonds.  Then I will have 1750 calories instead of 1300.

Supplements

Friday, December 29th, 2006

I’m still trying to decide what supplements I should take. I’m just going to get CLA and see how that goes the first couple of weeks. I want to find a good non-stimulant fat burner.  I don’t want to take anything that will make me feel high, or that will make me gain weight when I stop taking it.  I won’t need fish oil, I’m getting plenty of fat from nuts, egg yolk, and olive oil salad dressing.

Today’s diet was bland, but effective. I feel really good and light. I just need to make sure I drink a gallon of water. I’ve only had 2quarts so far.

Meal 1 one egg,  5 eggwhites,and a red potato

Meal 2 oatmeal and a scoop of protein

Meal 3 tuna, salad, and almonds

Meal 4 protein shake

Meal 5 two pieces of toast

Meal 6 sweet potato,asparagus,and turkey

Planning for contest prep

Thursday, December 28th, 2006

I found this great article by Layne Norton. http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/layne36.htm

I have been using it to detail my diet for the next few months.  I do so much better when I plan my meals.  It’s hard to track your diet if you don’t make a plan for everything you are going to eat.  It helps me to make a good grocery list so I don’t run out of anything.  I hate forgeting something like eggs or lunchmeat.  Then I’m screwed trying to defrost chicken or something to make a quick meal.  I end up skipping meals.  I really need to work on that.  I also want to make sure I have the correct balance of carbs, fat, and protein.  According to Layne’s article for my weight I need 1875 calories with 42-46% from protein, 31-40% from carbs, and 11-23% from fat.  I’ll stick with 45-35-20.

Meal 1 oatmeal and protein powder

Meal 2 cottage cheese and an apple

meal 3 salad with deli ham and balsamic vinegarette

Meal 4 2 pb toasts

Meal 5 protein shake

Meal 6 chicken and rice

Wednesday, December 27th, 2006

My husband sent me this email.

Hi Everybody,
It’ll take 30 seconds to click the link and sign the petition.
It’s legit.  And nobody is gonna use or resell your data.
And you can make a difference.

Already hundreds of thousands are dead, and more than 2 million men, women, and children have been driven from their homes. But if we can convince our leaders to make Darfur a priority, we can save hundreds of thousands of lives.

Please help us spread the word about this crisis before it is too late for more Darfuris.

Simply forward the message below to your friends and family and urge them to join you in standing up for the people of Darfur.

Thank you again for your help.

—————-PLEASE FORWARD MESSAGE BELOW——————–

Did you know that 2.5 million people have been driven from their homes in Darfur, Sudan? Each day, they face threats that are hard for us to even imagine including rape, disease, and starvation.

These people need our help to put an end to the genocide and they need it NOW.

Please join me in taking the first step to stopping the violence.

Click here to sign the Save Darfur Coalition’s petition urging President Bush and the UN Secretary-General to take immediate steps to stop the killing.

Together, we can make a difference in the lives of millions of people in the region who desperately need outside help.

The Save Darfur Coalition is urging the international community to prevent further killings, displacement, and rape by deploying the UN peacekeeping force that has already been authorized, strengthen the understaffed African Union force that is already in Darfur, establish a no-fly zone, increase humanitarian aid, and ensure access for delivery of food, medication and other essential supplies.

Please do not stand by while the violence continues - you can make a difference. Click here now to get involved.

Then please forward this message to your friends and family and ask them to join you.

If you’d like to make a donation to support the campaign, click here now.

Damn Holiday Food

Wednesday, December 27th, 2006

I’m not gonna lie.  I pigged out.  I ate cookies, cream puffs, peanut brittle, french bread, gravy, potatoes, candy canes, cheese, egg nog, and red meat; then I topped that with a bottle of wine on Christmas Eve.  On Christmas I had sticky buns, cookies, cheese, summer sausage, more potatoes, more red meat, and more wine.  I was sick.  I really over did it.  I was just thinking this is the last time I’m going to be able to eat like this until April.  That’s a little crazy.  I’m back on track now.  I’m so killer motivated.  I just got an email from Don Robinson, the promotor of the April contest.  I filled out all my paper work.  I’m really nervous to mail it out.  This is real.  I’m going to do it.

Today I was so good.  I’m back on the body fuel.  I had scrambled egg whites and a hand full of almonds for my first meal.  Then I had oatmeal with a scoop of protein.  Now it’s chicken salad time.  After I workout I’ll have a protein shake.  Dinner will be chicken and a sweet potato.

Blog Entry

Friday, December 22nd, 2006

Breakfast was so good today.  I mixed one whole egg and four egg whites with a red potato.  My second meal was a chicken salad. I just finished eating cottage cheese and an apple.  I’ll have protein shake after I workout my chest and back.  I want to go out to eat for dinner.  Maybe fish or Indian food.  I’ll probably just make a curry.

What to do

Thursday, December 21st, 2006

I have a busy day ahead.  I need to get a run in.  Hopefully, I have time.  I still have Christmas shopping and grocery shopping to do.  We’re having family over on Christmas Eve.  I’m not sure what I will eat today.  I had oatmeal and protein powder for breakfast.  I’ll probably have a smoothie for my next meal.  Then a chicken salad would make a good third meal.  I’ll have a protein shake when I get home, or leftover orange peel beef and rice, that sounds good.  I’m making spagetti and Italian sausage for dinner for my family.  I might just put the sauce on a  red potato.  I usually do that, because pasta makes me hella bloated.  I think wheat in general has that affect on me.

Burning down the kitchen

Wednesday, December 20th, 2006

I’m trying to make chocolate meringue cookies, and they keep burning.  It’s really not my fault the recipe said to cook them for 30-35 minutes.  Obviously, it’s too long so I will try 15 minutes.  Hopefully, this batch won’t burn.  If it turns out well, I’ll post the recipe.

Today I ate:

an egg and five egg whites with two strips of bacon

protein shake

salad with 8 oz of chicken

peanut butter toast

1oz of summer sausage

6oz of orange peel beef with 1cup of rice

I worked out my legs today.  I superseted 90lbs squats 4×12 with 55lbs leg extensions 4×10.  Then I did leg curls 50lbs 4×10 and called it a day.

You Should Weigh 125

If you weigh less than this, you either have a fast metabolism or are about to gain weight.
If you weigh more than this, you may be losing a few pounds soon!

How Much Do You Weigh?

Funny…that was weigh (hah hah) off!  I love it when people try to guess how much I weigh.  I have a lot of muscle mass at least 130 lbs.  Last time I checked my bodyfat it was down from 136 to 131 pounds of lean muscle mass.  I weigh about 160 ish.  I don’t own a scale.  I tossed it out after being frustrated that I gained weight but my measurements were smaller.  At the time I didn’t understand I was gaining muscle and losing fat.  Now I still don’t have a scale, because I just don’t care.  I check my bodyfat every few months at the gym, and get weighed when I go to the doctor.
