Work starting to show

Monday, January 19th, 2009

It is odd how it takes a great amount of time and effort to mess your body up, but then you expect it to be fixed after a week in the gym.  I have been in the gym and strict diet longer than a week.  The results are starting to show.  I dropped 3.8% body fat.  I gained 4 pounds and did not expect that.  I have been doing more cardio than usual and thought the weight would drop too.  I have been keeping the pulse rate around 125 while peddling, running and so on though.  That might be the trick!

The Scivation Xtend seems to keep me strong and recovering faster.  I am also enjoying the Scivation protein powder.

Off to the gym aain today!

going well

Monday, January 12th, 2009

We have been hard at it for the past week.  Everything hurts good.  It is funny how you work out and diet hard, then expect immediate results.  It takes a bit to get out of shape and a bit to get back into shape.

Back and biceps today.  The Scivation Xtend is really helping with keeping energized.  I think it feeds the muscles.

Pain and more pain!

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

I watched the biggest loser last night.  I m not usually a fan of reality television unless it is the NFL, but this show always seems to grab me.  They stand if front of millions and let it all hang out there in an attempt to change their life.  Pretty admirable in my humble opinion.  I don’t need much motivation these days, but it does motivate.

We rocked shoulders yesterday.  I could hardly sleep.  Every move makes them groan.  It is funny when you work out a body part and it feels huge.  I wasn’t sure I would fit through the door with my new huge shoulders.  Then you look in the mirror and they are the same size you woke up with!

On the road again

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

We have been hitting it hard.  It has been only two days, but man o man what a great feeling again.  The Scivation Xtend seems to help fuel the workouts.  I have been taking some beta alanine to help with the soreness, but still a bit sore.  Chest and legs were knocked out.  Tonight is shoulders.  I love shoulder night.

The diet is mostly chicken and protein shakes.  I might try to throw some tuna in there during wok days.

I still try not to look at myself naked in the mirror, but about a month away from feeling really good again.

Weigh in

Monday, January 5th, 2009

Weigh in was this morning.  Between the injured knee, fishing all summer and the poor diet……I managed to get into the worse shape of my life.  I weighed in 228 pounds and 23.8% body fat.

We started working out right away.  We worked chest/triceps and about fifteen minutes of cardio.

I am driven.

Here we go again!

Monday, December 29th, 2008

Each year we participate in a fitness challenge.  It is more of a body transformation contest.  The last year our team has placed second.  This year I have a team of three.  We are all dedicated and ready to go.  The down side is that the last two months have been poor eating habits in an attempt to fatten up a bit.  I have also cut the cardio out almost entirely.

Weigh in is January 5th.  I can’t wait to get going again.  I have been working out to keep the tendons and ligaments going, but not to the extent I love working out.

I have stock piled some Scivation products and we will see how we fare on their protein and the Xtend.   We have our diets fine tuned and know what we will be consuming for the next twelve weeks.

I will try to post a log on here to keep anyone who cares updated on our progress.  We will post photos at least monthly and maybe every two weeks to keep  the progress updated.

Wish us luck on our endeavor to finally win one!

Back at it

Sunday, November 9th, 2008

It seems I have been in the gym  more than on here the last two weeks.  Soreness is not so bad again.  Diet is coming around.

Back into it

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

I am back into the gym.  It is like the secret magic pill that makes you feel awesome.  I wonder why I ever stop taking it.  My knee is still healing so I have been doing leg machines and really miss the squats.  Endurance is coming back with the bike.  Soreness is amazingly painful, but in a good way.  Off to the gym.

Still Alive

Friday, October 17th, 2008

I am still alive!  I fished all summer.  I injured my knee and am rehabbing that, then hurt my right wrist.  Sucks to get old I guess.  Hopefully in a week I will be able to take off again, but slow and steady for now.

Summer

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

I went to training out of town for two weeks and didn’t have much to do, so I went to the gym.  It got me back into working out after a summer of fishing.  The soreness was the penalty for sluffing off this summer.  I hyper extended my right knee in training this week and it has put me on the couch for four days so far.  I hope to be cut loose in a day or two and then back at it.

The high you get from working out is addictive!
