What an icky day!  I woke up and was pumped for leg day.  I love leg day.  I injured my back about three years ago and have had a hard time doing legs.  I have worked out a routine and have been having some success with it.  My back is getting stronger too.  My talkative partner came along today.

He didn’t like the workout.  He likes to do squats and lunges for legs and that is it.  I love squats, but he kept talking about going parallel and so on.  I am working deeper and deeper, but not to parallel yet.  He didn’t go parallel either.  I finally gave up.  We did abs and left.  We agreed to not do legs together again.  I wasted my Lipo6 and NO Explode supplement today.

Partners are a funny thing.  THey make you go to the gym at a certain time and are great to have as a spotter.  Theycan also be a pain in the arse on occasion.  I am not sure we will be partners again.  At least in the gym.

Chest day.  My partner talkative partner showed up,  I was the talkative one this time.  I am not sure what happened.  We had a good workout.  Chest and triceps.  It was okay day.  Nothing earth shattering.  Legs tomorrowthough. I love leg day.  Not much to post this day.  Same old.

My talkative partner showed up for shouldes today.  Ipurchased a MP3 player yesterday.  What an asset!  The music made me lift more somehow and focus.  My talkative partner still rambled on, but I couldn’t hear him.  It was pretty unny when he asked if I had purchased the MP3 player because of him!

Shoulder day!  We combined workouts today.  A little of his and a little of mine.

We started with standing shoulder presses.  I usualy do sitting so I can isolate a bit more.  He wanted to do standing so we did.  I liked it.  Oddly enough I had to use less weight.  I don’tmind standing because we followed up with dumbell side laterals and front laterals.  We do the bench cable cros overs for rear deltoids.  SO we focus enough onisolation that I thinkwe can get away with standing shoulder presses.  My shoulder usually hurts after sitting presses, and it doesn’t hurt today.  I mean hurt in the bad way, not the good hard pain.

We also did upright rows and dumbell shrugs.  We did a good ab workout and then thirty minutes on the stationary bike. A good day!

I had oatmeal with some grape juice before the workout.  I also had a protein shake and the NO Explode. Good day!  Good workout!  I can’t wait untiltomorrow.  Back and biceps!

Leg Day

What an awesome leg day! No workout partner today.  I did squats, front squats, dumbell deadlifts, leg press, leg extensions, leg curls, and seated calf raises.  I could hardly walk out of the gym today.  I think I work ou better wihout a partner.  Yopu go deep inside your head whre no one bothers you.  You put your mind into the muscle that is being worked and make it rip.  You make it grow to new size.  You win.

Hey guess what!  A new partner.  The last partner decided he could not do any more chest when we were done withthe incline bench.  This guy did the whole workout, but said he thought we should lift heavier and do less sets. We did lift light, but I didn’t want him to be to sore.  He is a bit slow on the 2 mile run, but he will speed up and it was a fun run.

We started with incline bench.  The flat bench presses were beg used.  We warmed up with the bar.  THen we did three sets of ten with 135,  THen we did flat bench.  We started with 155 for a set of ten.  We went up to 185.  The last set I stripped the weights and went for 21 reps.  We also did flat flyes and incline dumbell presses.  Then we called it for chest.

We did dips for triceps.  Then the french press (skull crushers), followed by the cable pushdown.  We burned out with one arm cable.

I don’t think we did that much.  I am not sure if I am going to keep working out with a partnet or not.  The different tempo and ideas on the amount of weight gets to be a distraction.  He talks all of the freaking time too.  He’s my best bud though.

Diet is clean again.  I plan on posting another photo in December and hitting it extra hard for three months and thenanother after photo.

I am on my third partner this week.  A guy at work asked if I would work out with him.  He is pretty strong, but hasn’t lifted for a few years.

I did back and biceps with a different partner yesterday.  It was an awesome workout.  I have never been much for back or legs, but they are my favorite days now.  Is it a sign of getting old?

We did chest and triceps today.  It was okay.  The new partner kind of lowed us down a bit, but when he gets going he will push me to new lifts!  I think he might work out.

My legs have always been my poorest bodypart.  I decided I was going to build them no matter what.  Today I started with squats.  I usually use the smith machine because of my lower back and bad knees.  I used the free bar, but I went light.  I then did front squats.  Then the leg extension and leg curls.  I tried dumbell deadlifts today.  I loved them.  I finished up with stiff legged deadlifts and seated calf raises.  I almost just stayed the night at the gym, because I couldn’t walk down the stairs.

I had  a good ab work out and called it a day.  I did a five mile hike around a lake in the evening.  It was a great day.  I hope I can move tomorrow though.

Back at it!  I have lost three pounds in three days.  I don’t much care about weight, but I do use it as a measuring stick.  Yesterday we worked shoulders pretty well.  Today we did back, and did it hard

We started out with pull-ups until we failed.  I was disappointed that I couldn’t do more, but my lats were demolished.  We then went to the lat pull down machine and did some strict form, wide gripped pull-downs.  We did three sets. Our machine is a bit different so the weight doesn’t match up with other machines.  The last set I gave it all I had and could get seven.  I could have probably eked out one more if I cheated.  We went to the T-bar row machine and did three sets.  I was using 90 pounds on the last set, but could only get six.  The we went to the low pulley row.  Three sets here and I am not ashamed to say I was crying a little bit when we were done.  We went to the low back machine.  I have a terrible low back.  I did 70 pounds for three sets of fifteen.

We were about out of juice but used the bicep seated machine for warming up.  We did three sets of hammer curls.  I started with thirty pounders, but ended up with forty pounders.  We did barbell curls and had to drop down on weight on the last set.  We finished by working the rack with one armed dumbbell curls.  We did three sets of reverse curls for forearms.

We went to the treadmill for a quick mile run, stretched out and then called it.  I have to work overnights tonight so I hope to grab a nap before work.

I didn’t take any supplements (other than protein drinks) today and don’t plan to for a week or two.  I plan on eating a lot of protein to up my protein intake.

We are off and running again!
