well i’ve been doing the workout thing pretty hardcore for the last month. i have to say it’s been quite a few years that i’ve felt this strong. i’m still working on which supplements work the best for me and what workout programs are best for me. right now i’m doing 6 weeks with a four day split, taking 2 weeks off then i’m going to try a 3 day a week full body dumbbell workout for four weeks, then go back to my 6 week four day split. i’m basically taking supplements for 6 weeks, taking a 2 week break then for 4 weeks, then another 2 week break from them. i haven’t lost any weight in the last month, my eating habits definitely play a part in that, but i think i’m putting on some muscle as well.
i hope everyone has a great day.

3 weeks down and i’m finally getting into the swing. this first 6 week workout cycle is going to be a great foundation for the rest of my workouts. i dropped the 5 lbs i gained over the new years week, but i’m still hovering right at 280. i think the next workout cycle i will see some better results on the weight loss. i’m not eating as properly as i should be and i know that’s a major part of the problem. more often than not i’m making better meal choices but i still eat whatever when i go to parties or celebrations. fortunately there’s no major holidays or anything during my next cycle
and i’m getting in the habit of eating better which will only continue and get more strict as time goes by. that’s why i’m excited to see what happens.
I wish everyone the best.

well week 2 is done and i’m feeling pretty dang good. i can feel myself getting stronger with each workout. i’m pushing myself on the weights so i can feel a little soreness after every workout. eventhough i burned 7236 calories this week i didn’t drop any weight. in fact i added about 5lbs. that could be due to several things mainly the way i ate this week. a good friend had a new years eve get together and there was lots of snacks and they all had cheese and i kinda stuffed my face. plus his wife makes these peanut butter ball things that are as addictive as crack and she gave me a big bag of them to take home. well i got them on thursday morning and they didn’t make it to see friday night
my body weight isn’t my biggest concern eventhough i want to cut weight, my BF% is what is most important to me. once i get that to 15% i really don’t care what i weigh because everything will be just peachy. i’m taking my measurements today since i just got my myotape.
i hope everyone had a great new years, and kick ass in ‘09!!!

well my first week was great/hellish. i haven’t worked out that hard in a while and i have the soreness to remind me. i’m luvin it though. with only 4 workouts this past week i burned about 5100 calories. i didn’t lose any weight though. that probably has to do with the christmas and UFC parties i went to and ate pretty much what i wanted too. it’s all good i’ll make it up this week and eat a lot cleaner and disciplined. i’m not doing a new years eve party or anything so i won’t have any excuses
this week i should be getting at least 5 workouts in 4 weight training and short cardio and one long cardio day.
i hope everyone had a good christmas, and i hope your new years is even better.

well today was day 1 and let me tell you it was a biatch. i’m doing a 4 day split with weights and cardio 6 days a week. i decided to try a workout i found on here that has you doing 12-15 reps per set and 4 sets per exercise. i’m definitely not used to the longer sets, but it’s all good. i’m glad it was wearing me out, when that happens it actually motivates me to push. so i’m looking forward to each and every workout even more now. i weighed myself this morning and i weighed in at 275.5. i need to get a tape measure so i can measure my fat azz i’ll be looking to pick one up this week. that’s all for now, i’m going to post my fat pics i just took this evening

well i decided to start this blog so i could track my fitness goals for the first time in my life. the main purpose is so i can make myself accountable that way it’s harder to fall off the wagon. here’s a brief history. i joined the army in 1993 and i was probably one of the most out of shape dudes to go to basic training. fortunately basic has a way of changing that. after basic i was determined to be a good soldier and max my pt test one day. over the next 6 years i always improved on the pt test, scoring higher and higher with each one. then finally in 1999 i did 85 push-ups in two mins, 94 sit-ups in two mins, and ran two miles in 12:36, i was a decent pt stud. well…needless to say it’s gone downhill from there
once i met my goal i never pushed myself as hard after that.
fast forward to the last 3 years and things really hit the crapper. i was on recruiting duty and working 70 hours a week for 3 years and it definitely took a toll on my fitness level and body composition. i gained about 40 lbs and 10% body fat and had every excuse not to workout. when i was younger it was never a problem to cut about 15-20 lbs in a month. i turned 35 this year and it’s like a hit the frikkin wall. granted my eating habits have never really changed i love all food, sweets, food thats good for you and everything in-between. i have never drank alcohol, smoked or done drugs so i feel food is my vice.
speaking of hitting a wall, i’ve finally hit the wall on being an overweight, out shape, S.O.B. so i’ve been combing through BB.com and this site is amazing. there’s sooooo many useful tools and information it’s ridiculous. on dec. 22, 2008 i start my new regimen for dropping my weight and cutting my BF. i’ve been working out since i’ve joined the army 15 years ago, but i’ve never taken such a structured approach that i’m about to take. i’m excited to see what the results are going to be. if you read all of that thanx for taking the time, welcome to my journey.
p.s. my starting out pics will be coming.
