If you want to…

…disappoint yourself, give blood, and then go workout. Wow. Really. WOW.

I understood the science of blood doping. It makes perfectly good sense. Today, I saw the science for myself, or the exact opposite science.

I got a call from the doctor saying my last tests were better, and that some of the levels of my blood tests that they were concerned about had gone down, but some of the levels were still a cause from concern (a build up of creatinine in my liver and kidney). She asked me to come in and give more blood for more tests, so I did. I knew this might present a problem as today was the last day of my 12 week workout program. I decided that in order to stay on schedule with my program, I would just work out after my blood test. What a hilarious idea, right? So I did. I was weak as could be. On the first set of my third exercise, I made 6 of my normal 10 reps. I didn’t quit, but just ended up doing more exercises with low weight and high reps. Anyways, today was bad timing and disappointment.

…So now I’ll take my week off, but when I hit those weights again, I’m gonna hit them like a train.

Maybe bad timing, but shouldn’t be a disapointment. You went in and trained. Maybe a bone head thing to do after giving blood, but you did do it. And you made it through. So what if you had to lower weight and do more reps. You worked. Now take the break you deserve, don’t dwell on the tests, just wait patiently for the results and start thinking about your next routine. Relax. I hope the best for the new results for you.
I have heard from some trainers that creatine is not as benifical as the glutemine (or gluecoseamine…how ever the hell you spell the words. At least your able to take protien? I can’t. Tears me up..I mean REALLY rips me apart and don’t know what to do for a subsitute. Don’t mean to get off track, but good luck with it and rest the best you can.

Hey bro, don’t worry that you are taking a week off. THis might be very beneficial. And it will also make your body wonder what is going on.(it is always a good thing to keep your body guessing) My best friend was a player in the Bulgarian National Rugby Team and he has broken his showder 3 THREE times. He was not training at all for 2-3 month periods. But when he started againg he did not have any loss of strenght. So if you have been training for a while you’ll be fine the next week!
