Good news!

I just got back from re-hab and my dr’s appt.  I went from 65 degrees to 110 in a week as far as how much I can bend my knee.  He added more exercises for me to do at home.  The dr said I am doing way to good, that its making him nervous.  He said my progress is that of someone who is 6-8 weeks post op vs. the 2 that I am right now.  He told me to take it easy and he may let me use the exercise bike at the end of Feb.  To be honest I have not done anything different than what the therapist have me do at home.  I just recover very quickly, so I have to try to take it easy.  Until then!

Re-hab

Today I went to re-hab, he looked at my knee and see how far I could bend it.  The first time he checked it was 2 days post op, at 25%.  10 days later I’m at 65%, good progress but now my thighs are shrinking so now we are going to concentrate on that.  Until then!

Update

Sunday, January 21st, 2007

I had surgery on tues, and it went very well.  Of course I was high the first few days and tossing my cookies but it comes with having surgery sometimes.  I started re-hab on the 18 and its going to be hell.  I saw the dr on the 19 and turns out he put 2 screws in my leg.  Intead of me wanting to work out 2 weeks post op, it will be atleast 6 weeks.  I am bummed out, the dr told me if I put to much weight on my leg I could bend or break the screws and yes he would have to go back in and replace them.  So not cool.  Pain wise I am doing great, lots of ice and rest and I should be back in a few weeks.  I barely made it up the stairs to use the pc and to shower.  But I have to remaine positive and I will get through this rut…….Cheers

cardio day

I took the kids to the "Y" for them to play some b-ball.  I went off and did 20 mins of cardio, then joined them in a game of b-ball.  Lots of fun, I’m still nursing this cold and I’m hoping it will be done and over with by Sunday. Cheers

Met the Trainer

We met and had a sit down of my goals.  He had 2 programs in mind but I chose the one I was doing already just wanted to intensefide it.  It will be a fat loss program with lots of cardo and what not.  I will meet him again after my surgery when I am able to walk.  This guy is very kind, he is older but with a young body.  But I have a feeling he will push me in the direction I want.  Until then!

Just arms and chest

I woke up this morning feeling very tired.  This is what I get for staying up late and then getting up early.  I did manage to work out but it was half-ass.  All I did was arms and chest, I had a goal of walking away with sore arms, well I did not do that.  Atleast I went.

Well he called me today and we are going to meet on Thursday to chat.  I told him what I wanted and he said he has an idea on what I can do to acheive it.  I am taking a break this weekend, my back is a little sore, my thighs hurt and yes my upper body is doing better.  But the gym will be very crowded and I don’t like crowds.

Lower body

Today was lower body day, I did my thighs,calves, lower back and hips.  It was not to intense but enough for me to feel it.  I read this blog entry about working out your week areas first.  It made sence to me.  I am about to hire a personal trainer to make sure I am doing what I need to do.  Until then!

Upper body

Today I went to the gym and its been atleast a month.  I had so much on my plate that it took a back seat and I had gain some weight back.  I am not discourage over it, it was the holidays, and with my knee problem it slowed me down.  When I started working on my chest I did not realize how long its been.  It did not take me long to have muscle failure but I press on till I could not do any more.  My arms feel like jelly and its hard to even eat right now.  Cheers!
