We started back to the gym this week. Two weeks off, one for vacation and another to rest from vacation. I had two great workouts this week, chest one day and back and arms another. I was amazed how much I needed a couple of weeks off tho recover.
The shoulder is much better, but I’m concetrating on good form and not maxing it out at least for the next month or so.

I started doing HIIT using an elliptical trainer and running. It kicks butt. Heavy on the legs too. The shoulder is getting much better. I’ll take it easy from now until 5/18/09 when I start a new 12 week cycle.
This has been my first cycle and overall I think my size is roughly the same but my bodyfat is way down. I’ve still got a long way to go to get to the elusive six pack.

Shoulder strain, either a delt or rotator cuff. I don’t know, I’m a chemist not an anatomist. Anyway, Other than that I feel great, I had a day off from the gym because of too long work hours. I feel rested and ready to go but the shoulder issue is a problem. Better than last thursday when I hurt it (military presses) but still very tender. I’m looking forward to working legs (a sign of a sick individual) abs, and maybe some LIGHT rows.
If anyone actually reads this give any rehab advice you have. Can’t wait to lift heavy again.

We had killer workouts lst week. This week I’m still a little sore and tired. I worked cardio last night and that was about all I had energy to do. I Hate it when work sucks all my energy out. I’ll just have to suck it up and kick butt on my regular day tommorrow.

Just after the new year we bought cross country ski’s. Great I thought we can build up some cardio strength. After about three outings I noticed my very tight 34 waist pants (I really was getting close to a 35-36" waist) were getting not so tight. We started adding weight training to the mix and I’m down to a 33" waist, my old belt fits again, and I had to buy some smaller jeans.
Overall, I feel like a 20 year old again. My bench press has gone from struggling with 115, to struggling with 155. My overall measurements have remained roughly the same but I’m starting to see more definition as my bodyfat goes down and muscle mass goes up.
My biggest mistake was not to keep a workout log from the start. It helps to be able to look back at last weeks workouts to see progress and make sure you stay on track.
