cardio and resistance training day

Today was basicly a high intensity training day mixed in with a upper body circut.  First I got on the treadmil and did hills on an incline for 30 minutes. From there I did Lat pulldowns@ 60 lbs for 15 reps about 3 sets, the row machine at 50 lbs for 15 reps really focusing on my form and on the muscle I was trying to hit. I went back and forth with those for about 3 sets too. The last set I dropped the weight and went to failure. I was feeling it in my lats and middle back area.  From there I did the peck deck for a few sets. I think I used 45 lbs on those until My chest muscles were shaking. That machine makes me feel like such a bad ass!!! Then I worked on my abs. That is truly my weak area. I need to spend more time working on my abs but I HATE it. I get a few sets done and I am threw. Anyways, I did about 2 or 3 sets of 30 reps on the weighted ab machine @ about 60 lbs. I really focused on using my abs to move the weight. Really felt the "burn" when I went really slowly and imagined my abs working. From there I did hanging leg raises. About 1 set of 50 reps broken down 20,10,15,10. Ok I guess that would be more than 50 but I just did it until I didn’t have correct form. After that I cooled my butt down and went home. I a all itchy as I type this and so ready for the shower.

Off to the showers!

Cardio day

Hey y’all.
I just got back from the gym. It was packed in there. GEEZE!!! I only stayed 45 minutes and did cardio only…..
15 minutes on the eliptical and then I went over to the recumbant bikes and rode that for another 15 minutes. I wanted to finish up on the legs doing a small circut of leg extentions and leg curls.

Putting my self first!

Things have gone back to normal for the most part. I am finally dong my workouts again. Mostly at home…. but at least they are getting done. Of course I have gained some weight since the holidays but I am trying to get back into the swing of things. I have more time on my hands becouse I have gone to part time at work. That gives me more time to work on putting myself back on the list. For some time now I have NOT been on the list of priorities. Everything else started coming first and I came last. NO MORE for that. I want to be fine and sexy for summer. If I don’t try to tighten up now then when the sun peaks his head out I will still be fat and fluffy and can’t fit into any of my hot and sexy clothes. :) I am starting out with my workout DVD’s for the first few weeks then I will up my game and hit the gym at least 3 times a week. I mean I have been paying for my memberships and only have been getting there half the time. No more wasting money….No more wasting time making excuses. I am going back to logging in my meals. Drinking my protein and eating clean. No more fast food. I can make better food than any resturant! I am back to taking my pictures and posting my acheivements and accountability! I am back to keeping a food journal.  It is a new year, and a new day! Time to create a new me!

I FINALLY FOUND A PLACE TO LIVE

I have been away for a while becouse I moved out of my apartment. The plan was to move in with my mother until I found a place. It turned out to be harder than I thought it was going to be. Fast forward 1 month. I am still living in the living room. When I thought all hope was lost and I was going to live here forevah… the opportunity came up…. went away then came back again. We gave the first months rent and will have the next months rent on christmas eve. Finally, it looks like it is all coming together.  The only thing is I have the smallest room. But at this point, I don’t even give a damn. I just want things to go back to normal. It is weird… my life seems to run on structure. When my routine is disrupted I just can’t seem to get right. On top of all that I transfered to another department at work. So that ment meeting all new people and learning a new work environment. WHEW!! It all seems like a whirlwind has hit my life and turned it all topsy tuvy.

On the flip side I have been getting my booty in the gym lately. Since things have slowed down to somewhat normalcy. I have only been doing about 60 minutes of cardio. I am starting slowly for the next 2 weeks and easing into a normal balance of work, moving and adding back in my lifting/cardio schedule. I don’t want to add in too much and risk falling off again. The cardio has been helping me with my stress level I think. I dont feel so out of control as I was a few weeks back. That is such a GOOD feeling!

random thoughts

Hi everybody out there!

Its me! I am still hanging in there with these workouts. I think I am getting a bit leaner. The scale drops SLOWLY. I have noticed the more I pay attention to my food intake the more the scale moves or at least stays the same. I have been trying to incorporate more protein in as well as less carbs and more veggies.I think my body likes to hold on to the fat! I have to eat thinks like broiled tilapia fish, tuna fish(straight out the pouch) and broiled chicken and veggies. I try to limit the amount of carbs I eat. Now I only eat maybe one serving of brown rice a day. It is all a science, this food thing. I know HOW to do it. The hard part is figuring out how the food works with your body and when to eat it.

I am so tempted to order the Firm it up videos. I want to complete my set for the Express DVD’s. I want to do it for ME. I work so hard each week. Right now I am in the hole bill wise. It has been a hard road trying to dig myself out of it. The workouts and stuff has been a big help to me. I know that is MY time for me to block out all the things that are crazy at work, in my personal life as well as my business life. I can take that time to focus on something else for once. I used to do that at the gym. I would put on my headphones and zone out to the music and sweat, sweat, sweat. Now since I am behind on my gym payments I thank god for my videos and my workout equipment. I can still punish my body(in a good way) with the weights and cardio.  I love it when the sweat is dripping down my back and into my eyes. I love to get that burn in my muscles when I push my muscles to the limit! It is a beautiful feeling! I think I am beginning to see the muscles TRYING to come out from under the layer of fat. Gotta get some digital batteries for my camera so I can take pics. Maybe you guys out there can see something that I can’t.  :D

DAY 7 STRETCH x OR REST DAY

TO DECIDED TAKE TODAY AS MY REST AND VOTE DAY. I WENT OUT WITH MY FRIEND TO GO AND VOTE. SHE ASKED ME TO GO EAT WITH HER. I SPLIT SOME FISH WITH HER AND HAD A MARGARITA. FOR THE MOST PART IS WAS A GREAT DAY. TIME TO START AGAIN WITH CHEST AND BACK TODAY. HOPEFULLY I CAN GO HARDER WITH MY PUSHUPS THAN I DID THE FIRST WEEK. I FELT REALLY WEAK THE FIRST WEEK OUT. HOPEFULLY I CAN IMPROVE A LITTLE BIT.

DAY 4 YOGA

I AM THE FIRST ONE TO ADMIT  THAT I AM NOT FLEXABLE.  AS A MATTER OF FACT I HATE TO DO ALOT OF STRETCHING.   i MEAN…. I AM 5 FEET TALL FOR PEETS SAKE!!! Sometimes I feel like my legs are the same length as my upper body.  SHHHHHH!  Well anyways, I guess the main thing about doing Yoga is that you have to work up to the flexability. So what I did was turn the lights down really low, I put on one of my "yoga" CD’s so that I could feel more relaxed and in the moment. I tried to push everything out of my mind and concentrate on my breathing.  That concept alone is hard, becouse while you are doing a downward facing dog and trying to breath deep at the same time is kind of hard. The first thing you want to do is hold you breath!!!!  Even though I wasn’t very comfortable it began to feel better. I love the colbra stretch where you are kind of stretching like a snake. Holding your upper body up  with your outstretched arms while your thighs are on the floor. Now that stretch felt good on my spine. I could do that all day long. :)   You do a quick pushup then fold your body into the downward dog position. That stretch felt good on my calves. AHHHHH. Now I was feeling it all in my legs. I think I needed that becouse after almost a week of workouts, my body felt really tight.  Once I got finished, i think i was understanding why we need yoga. Even though I wasn’t in the most comfortable positions, I felt good after I was finished. It was just what the doctor ordered. I woke up feeling not as tight as I did when I began. I am gong to make a mental note to not subsitute Yoga as much as I do. I need to quiet myself and listen to what my body is trying to tell me. I have a stressful job. Hell, I have a stressful life! Why not take that time to be quiet and learn something new. This journey is teaching me so much about myself. Things that I had never took the time to do, like quiet my brain and try to push everything out and FOCUS on myself!

P90X DAY 3

SHOULDERS AND ARMS-
DAY 3
THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE WORKOUTS TO DO.
I FEEL LIKE SUCH A HARDCORE BAD ASS WHEN MY WHEN I CAN SEE THE MUSCLES IN MY DELTS.
WORKING MY SHOULDERS AND ARMS MAKES MY MUSCLES FEEL ALL PUMPED UP AND GLORIOUS. I USED MY 15 POUND WEIGHTS FOR MOST OF THE EXERSISES. FOR THINGS LIKE THE FLIP GRIP KICKBACKS I HAVE TO DROP DOWN TO MY 8 POUNDS. I NEED TO PURCHASE A PAIR OF 10 POUNDS FOR THINGS LIKE THAT. I FEEL REALLY STRONG WHEN DOING THE ALTERNATING DUMBELL PRESS, AND THE FULL SUPINATION CONCENTRATION CURLS MAKE ME FEEL ALL HARDCORE AND STUFF. I’M ALL… GRUNT, GRUNT, PUFF, PUFF. I CAN DO THIS…. I CAN DO THIS!. 11,12,13,14 AHHHHHHH…15 PUT THOSE SUCKERS DOWN!
MY MUSCLES CRY, AND SCREAMING…. BUT I KEEP PUSHING ON AND TRYING TO GO HARD AND HEAVY. I CAN’T WAIT TO GET THE LAYER OF FAT OFF OF MY BODY. I AM DOING ALL I CAN DO TO CUT THE FAT. I CAN’T EXPECT TOO MUCH. I TOOK ME A LONG TIME TO GET MY BODY THIS WAY.. I AM SURE IT WILL TAKE A LONG TIME TO GET IT BACK INTO SHAPE.

P90X DAY 1 AND 2

Day 1 P90X Classic
Monday
Chest and back

Boy, I can tell that I am really weak. The pushups and pull ups were so hard. I could barely eeek out like 10 on my toes before I had to drop and finish on my knees. It was shaking by the end of it. the last set of the dive bombers I could only manage like 1 and it was so shakey I got to the end to cool down but it was HARD. I can’t wait to start seeing some improvement. Each day is a challenge, but I know each day I am going to get stronger and stronger.

 

Day 2 P90X classic
Plyo (Hurlo)

This workout is so much fun but Hard as hell. By the end of it my lungs are on fire. Even Tony is tired in this video. I am sucking wind so hard by the end of it. Rock star hops!!!! OMG!! For get about it! I just keep going. My goal is to keep up with Pam tha Blam! That woman is built. I want legs like hers! I just keep going and going even thought I really feel like falling on the ground gasping for breath like a fish out of the fish bowl! HA! By the bonus round I’m dripping in sweat.
I forgot how BAD A$$ Tony Horton makes me feel. I feel so hardcore after a good session with him. My muscles ache and feel so full when I am done. I feel like I truly have accomplished something for the day. Thanks to Debbie and Chalean, I can keep up in the cardio dept without feeling winded in the warm up.
With each day I am remembering why I am doing this again. To be strong, fit, and Fabolous!
