TOTAL SWEAT FEST

Things are going better since I got my goals in order. Went to the for a while on my off days. On days that I didn’t go to the gym I threw in my workout DVD’s. I felt like doing some cardio so I did 40 minutes of TURBO JAM. I know some of you out there who may be reading this are thinking " TURBO JAM"??? What kind of fluffy girl workout is that??? OHHHH NOOOOOO! That workout will have you sweatin bullets. Total sweat fest baby. Don’t knock it.  Any whoo…. I was sweating so hard my eyes were stinging. It felt so good, after that I wanted to cool down and stretch my muscles, so I put in my yoga DVD. Got my muscles all stretched out, and my body all cooled down then took it to the showers. All in all that day’s workout was really good.

The next day, I took it to the gym. I set the timer for 60 minutes on the treadmil at a 10% incline. However halfway into it I switched it to hills with various inclines. I liked that much better. Before, it kept kicking me out of the fat burner program and lowering my speed and incline to lower my heart rate. ARGGGG!!! That is what I wanted to do was increase my heart rate. Once I set it on hills I liked that much better. I got a great calorie burn. ( I think)

After that I went to the machine resistance weight area where I worked on my chest and triceps. I forgot my weight training log so I will have to post what I remember.

I did the vertical chest press at 30 or 40 lbs, the regular chest press at the same poundage. I did about 3 sets of 15 reps, or to failure. I did a couple sets of the lat pulldowns superset with tricep pressdowns. It was a light day so I didn’t do much. I didn’t write what I wanted to do in the gym so I got tired pretty quickly. Each day I will explore the gym more and more. I like it when the gym is almost empty. There is less people to wait on equipment. I still get a little bit intimidated in the gym I started going to. It is a lot bigger than the other gym I used to go to. I think they got used to me coming in so I didn’t feel so out of place. Here I can’t help but feel like the NEW GIRL. Oh well, those guys better shove over cuz I am BRINGIN IT big time BABY!

Must fight the Sabotoage!!!

My friend, God Love her, She ALWAYS wants to come over RIGHT after I get home from work. I try to save that time for my workouts or to hit the gym before it closes.  Last night she came over and I still did and finished my workout while she was downstairs. However, guess what she brought with her…. A BAG OF DORITOES!!!! I think subconciously she does that kind of stuff on purpose.  I can’t get mad at her just becouse I am watching what I am eating. That doesn’t mean that SHE has to do it too. Even though I try to set a good example for her. She is really overweight and I wish she would try harder to be healthier. She won’t do it. It is not her fault.  I just have to learn how to be strong to RESIST temptation.  NO matter what kind of food is brought around me. I have to be strong. So instead of reaching my hand in that bag of chips… i got a handful of almonds and a string cheese and was just as satisfied.

So, I had the Muesli with cottage cheese, vanilla yogurt,and soy milk and I am hungry already. It is almost snack time. I think I will mix up a little protein smoothie with water. I am totally loving the chocolate muscle milk. That has to be the best protein I have tasted YET! Even with water it tastes creamy, smooth and Great! If you havent tried it, you should.

My Personal Challenge Agreement

I hereby agree to make a commitment to my health and happiness! I will become responsible for my own success. I will commit to making these two fitness goals:

  1. I will workout 3 times a week and do 20-30 minutes of cardio 3 times a week as well.
  2. I will make a commitment to schedule my workouts and not miss them no matter what.

I will go to the gym 3 to 4 times a week. I will increase my daily activity level by making small changes .

I will keep my portions appropriate and stay within my caloric allowance. I will eat whren I am hungry and not when I am bored, stressed or thirsty. I will eat 5-6 small meals throughout the day.

With determination and commitment to myself, i will reach my weight loss and overall health goals. By embrasing a healthy lifestyle, I will benefit today and for the rest of my life.
