Counting down to end of Month 2

Well . . . one more week until I hit the 2-month mark on my attempt at transformation.  That also means one more week until I have to take new progress pics–YIKES! 

I’ve continued to make good progress and am feeling very good about where I am right now in relation to the goals I have set for summer.  Am going to bump up the cardio this week, because I really want to get under 190 lbs by the end of February.  I’m close . . . it would be an important milestone to hit and would mean I was 3/4 of the way to my June 1 goal of 185 lbs.  Bodyfat is still a bit of a mystery . . . I don’t think my starting point was accurate and I don’t have a lot of confidence in my attempts at caliper measurements yet.  So at this point, it’s up to the scale for weight and my tape measure & pics for fat loss judgements.

Posting new progress pics next weekend no matter what!

Halfway there . . . so far so good

I was a little disappointed with my progress early on, but as I hit the midpoint on month 2 of my program I’m actually feeling pretty good about where I’m at.  I am down at or below 192 lbs now (down about 8 from where I started in Jan) which is a little better than 1/2 way to my June 1 goal of 185 lbs.  So I think I am ahead of the game there.  Bodyfat is hard to tell . . . my scale is obviously wrong (hasn’t decreased bf at all) and I am still trying to get a feel for how to use the calipers consistently.  I believe that I am down to around 21% bf . . . maybe a little lower as I have lost 2 inches off my waist and I think pictures/measurements are revealing a good deal of fat loss.

I’ll post another set of progress pics at the end of this month to see where things stand.  But I have to admit that I am feeling pretty positive that I will make my goal.

Battered and Bruised . . . but Motivated

Today I feel like I got the crap beat out of me . . . mostly because I did:-)   I did 2 hours of Jujitsu last night and ended up grappling pretty aggressively with one of the biggest guys in the school.  This guy makes me look petite, if you can picture that.  Had a blast and an awesome workout . . . there is just no match for that kind of conditioning for cardio and muscles.  The price I paid was waking up today with soreness all over . . . and a bunch of sopts on my arms & shoulders that will no doubt turn to bruises by tomorrow.  Plus I lifted back/biceps this morning, which ought to add another layer of misery onto the damage I did last night. 

But . . . the payoff was that I weighed myself this morning and I dropped below 192 punds for the first time in a couple years!  Not sure how much of that I should attribute to water lost in training last night.  But I was keeping hydrated during class and I drank a bunch of water when I got home.  Hoping that the lower weight is more an indication that I have been good with my diet and training and that I am starting to get on a fat burning roll.

Will weigh in again in a couple days to see if it "sticks."  But I have to say that, after what seemed like a bit of a slow & disappoiinting start to my goals, I feel really good about where I am now and the direction I’m heading.  If I can get at or below 190 lbs by the end of February, I will be very confident about meeting my goal of 185 lbs by June. 

Lowest Weight Today . . . Not Sure I Buy It :-)

I was pretty excited to see that I hit a low point on weight this morning . . . 193.2 lbs.  BUT . . . I’ve been fighting a cold the last few days and missed 2 workouts, plus I probably ate a bit less than normal yesterday.  So I’m not sure that I should get too excited about the "progress" that may have been made.

I feel a lot better today and just got back from doing a good legs, calves & shoulders workout.  I’ll weigh myself again tomorrow and see where things average out.  Betting I’ll be up a little, but we’ll see.  Sucks to get sick when I was making such good progress and being so consistent with getting in my training.  Feels good to feel good again!  

I still have absolutely ZERO feel for where my bodyfat % stands.  My Tanita just is not consistent at all.  I’m down around 7 pounds, at least 1 inch on my waist in the last month, and I’ve done that on Keto (so I know that I am definintely burning fat)–but my bodyfat has either stayed the same or gone up according to the scale.  Still have not gotten the hang of the calipers either.  So it’s a bit of a mystery to chart bodyfat progress.  I’m going more by the progress pics and measurements at this point.
