I am no proffessional but I would advise reading some books and this site has alot of useful articles. I do not think you need to spend a ton of cash to get to the stage and win. The next best thing is to keep doing what you are doing now, ask. Alot poeple on this site give the informatin for free.

Jump in and do it! Don’t be a fool like me and wait until a near death experience to follow your dreams.

Train hard. There’s no special weight program for figures prep. I’ve been flogged harder since I started training with my coach and he’s actually making me eat more which is scaring the pants off me. Other than once a week floggings from a trainer I’m flying solo and doing fine in my prep.

Posing coaches can be found through your local BB federation. My local one held a pre-comp info session 16 weeks out and gave heaps of info on posing, diet, cardio, tanning and suits and ideas of contacts for all of the above. Ask in your local ‘muscle’ shop. I find the guys in there the friendliest most helpful advice and I don’t even have to buy anything.

There are a fare few girls prepping for comps who are blogging here too. I find reading their blogs v. handy.

Take photos of yourself weekly in the same poses, even if you can’t pose properly. I can look in the mirror every day and not see any difference but my photos are showing me otherwise.

I can’t help you on the competition thing. Best advice I can give you is to chat with some of the women on bb. com that compete. im sure they will love to help you. Just TRY and stay focused, keep your eye on the goal. You’ll get there–no doubts about it! Try checking out the forums/do a member search on women that are the same height as you are and who compete.

You’ll learn so much just from doing the competition. At the same time you can find out what other competitors did along the way. Get the feeling of being on stage and if you like it, it might be worth it to you to spend the money to get proper training. Above all, have fun.

I do not compete so I am not shore what my coments are worth..But I have been lifting and reading the Muscle mags since 1989 in highschool. I still refer to some of those old back issues for ideas at times. "Knowelege" is so over rated it is f____ng insain!!! What gets one other person in shape will not work on another person and so forth. Diet help might help for the first compotition but I would not hink that it is vital. The first compotition in ANY sport is basicly just for the experience and to meet people who do the same thing you do..nhot to win or place. Once you meet more people you can talk to them and figure out what they did and how that might apply to you. This will be a little crass, but it is basicely like sex..the first time is basicely alot of fumbeling and imbarisment (Not to mention pain if you are female!) for rather minor reword..but it rapidely gets better, more enjoyable and interesting with more practice! As long as you keep good records so that you can learn as you go I do not see why you need help to compet if that is what you want to do!! I hope that you do chose to do so..if for no other reason then for the rest of us to see more of you in less! :)
