Awesome about the bodyfat percentage. I've found that to be the single most difficult thing to change, although I do have my doubts about my scale.

Good luck with the marathon. I'm thinking about doing CIM this December. It makes sense because it literally goes one block by my house, and it's a fast relatively flat course. I've got my work to do to get ready for it.

Congrats on the weight loss. I'm impressed by your mileage and workouts -- I hope I can get up to 40 mpw running without my Achilles tendon giving out.

Glad you survived the earthquake. I was living in L.A. at the time of the Northridge quake in 94 and I will never forget that. It woke us up and sounded like it was going to bring the whole apartment building crashing down (it didn't).

Keep up the great workouts and keep us posted on the results.

I appreciate the comment, btw. You are right, it's long term training that counts, not the one week results. I feel like I've finally taken my running, though, to a level that I can build on to achieve my goals. Pretty excited about that.

What an excellent blog, Dave. :D I laughed out loud when I read the part about everyone passing you while you ran. LOL!!! GOOD FOR YOU for taking the tougher path - there is SO much value in this road and I can't wait to hear how it builds a more solid foundation for you! :) YAY Dave!!! :)

What a detailed and thoughtful plan for your training, Dave! Glad to hear that you are seeing gains with your strength - you are definitely doing something right when you see those gains! The weight will change when your body is ready to give it up - meanwhile, keep being consistent in all the other areas, and it will surely follow! With a brutal training plan like the one you've outlined, how could it not! Have a great week. :)

Dave, sorry to hear about the stressful week. :( It's good that youhave so much compassion and empathy for the kids who did poorly in your class! But as it was a part of your journey, it'll also be part of theirs to experience and learn from. :) Great job on submitting the rest of the grades - what a huge relief that must be! :) Your plan for the next two weeks sounds solid. I can't wait to hear how you nail it!

Dave, Congrats firstly on your 2.6 pounds! :) What a wonderfully encouraging beginning! :D This site really does have some truly amazing, cool and encouraging people, doesn't it??! I'm so happy to see such a happy post - come back to this one if you ever have one of those days where you feel like things just suck, and remind yourself of how different things are with a bit of perspective. :)
