Thanks to all you bloggers for helping start my transformation!!

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

I’ve been logging on to this website daily, since I found the 50000 Body Transformation thru a google search.  I’ve read the blogs daily and have come to conclude the following:

-          You bloggers are extremely positive; I assumed that with all the testosterone involved with the sport, I would see much criticism and hating going on but that’s not the case.  In short, there’s a lot of ‘love’ going around.  Everyone simply wants to help everybody else out and I think that’s quite admirable.

-          This is THE website to go to if you need a little visual help in establishing your goals.  I’ve seen pictures of extremely fit looking people of all shapes and sizes.  The concept of visualizing one’s goals is important in the process of actually achieving them and this site allows for that.  I don’t have to blow 5 bucks at the newsstand to see how one with an ectomorphic body type can put on mass because this site has tons of before-and-after pics of skinny guys getting huge.

-          Another noteworthy observation is that I’ve seen the best looking arsses on this site.  I’ve learned that even after the age of 45 and 6 kids, a woman can still maintain a rock solid behind and a lean physique.  By the way, there are some serious MILFs on this site (God bless you,…each and everyone of you).  As far as my standards are concerned, this site just raised the bar.

So I’d like to say thanks to all of you for motivating me and sharing the love.  I’ve never had a more positive outlook or attitude towards training and diet.  I know that every barrel has its rotten apples and that I’ll experience a ‘HATER’ at some point during my transformation but just knowing that there are thousands of people out there sharing the love will help me to look past the hate.

My current stats after one week:

Weight:     175.4lbs. from a previous 178

I know that some of the weight is water but just seeing the change on the scale has motivated me to eat even cleaner.  I’ll post the progress pics later today.

Thanks,

DAVE

Scored a deal on Salmon… healty meal in less than 15 minutes!

Sunday, April 27th, 2008

I went to the local supermarket (Albertson’s) and found a deal for 10 individually wrapped packages of frozen wild salmon for $10 (140 kcal with 22g of protein).  I bought some cholula lime seasoning and the results were the following:

hope this works

My First ‘CLEAN’ Meal

Thursday, April 24th, 2008

These are the details about my first ‘Clean’ meal:

I went to the market and purchased some inexpensive but nutritionally dense food.  I ended up getting frozen mixed vegetables along with some frozen ground turkey.  I also purchased some Old Bay Seasoning along with some Old Bay Blackened Seasoning.

I thawed out the turkey and seasoned it with the original old bay seasoning.  I wasn’t sure how much to season it with so I stayed on the conservative side and put small amount on the meat and mixed it in:

Ground Turkey 99 cents

Ground Turkey with Old Bay

I divided the 16 ounces into 3 parts, approximately 5.3 ounces a piece and put them on the grill.  As they were grilling, I seasoned one side with the blackened seasoning:

Put Blackened Seasoning on 1 side as patties were grilling

I didn’t take the pic because I had no time, but I drained the fat out of the pan.  There was a pretty good amount of fat so I’m sure I lessened the fat content by doing so.

3 paties of cooked ground turkey

I finished with 3 cooked turkey patties.  I steamed a cup of frozen mixed vegetables and concluded with the following dish:

Final Dish

Here are the nutritional stats, assuming that I didn’t pour out the fat:

Total Calories (patty and veggies) = 320 + 25 = 345 kcal

Protein = 25.3 + 1 = 26.3 grams

Carbs = 4 grams (from veggies)

Fat = 22.6 grams (assuming I didn’t pour the fat out of the pan)

I’m sure I reduced the amount of fat by pouring it out of the pan.  A conservative assumption would be a reduction of about 25% of the fat, resulting in a fat content of about 17 grams.

Fiber = 1 gram

Now I have 2 more patties to eat for the next two meals.  I plan to make a meal replacement shake for dinner.

Hope this keeps up,

DAVE

P.S.  Your comments would be helpful!
