Today was a great day at the gym. Over the last 15 weeks I have been focusing on the three basics of weight training. Dead lift, bench press, and squats. Ive put on around fifteen to twenty pounds since mid October. Heavy lifting and lots of food. I have put on a few pounds of fat, but I think that comes with the territory. Today I did 25 consecutive reps. of 205lbs in the back squat. I was am pretty proud of that. The last time I tried a 20 rep set of squats it was with only 185lbs. I totally smashed that. I don’t mess around with partial squats either…we’re talking about full range of motion, past parallel and only two breaths allowed between each rep.

Wow, high volume squats are always impressive to me. Way to go!

Nice work, they are the best excercises for strength and building up the core.I only started properly on deads and squats 2 months ago and its helped alot.best wishes to you for 2009,Michael.
