Pain thresholds…..
I have never been a big one for pain, especially when it came to exerting myself. But a few weeks ago I bit the bullet and decided, no pain, no gain. So I have been working out with heavier weights and feeling that burn like never before "#$/¡[:. I have kept up with it, worked on my mental coping skills and then suddenly today I realised…..hey I want the pain! What is THAT? I guess my body has adapted and realised that pain isn’t necessarily bad, and in this case it’s good, a sign that things are changing for the better. I never thought I would say this but, hey I am looking forward to tomorrow, pain, bring it on!

Thanks for posting! To answer your question: Low carb for me means the only carbs I’m taking in come from: veggies, oatmeal, protein powder and one rice cake a day. My first comp is in a little over 7 wks. Thats enough to keep me motivated. I’m looking forward to having pics like yours to post soon. BTW thanks for your response!

What your experiencing is DOMS ( Delayed onset muscle soreness) when you exert yourself you actually give yourself small micro tears in your muscle and the pain you feeling is the muscle repairing itself.
Strangely enough its actually a pain that sadly some people get enjoyment from (myself included), when you wake and have this pain it lets you know you’ve been working out at the appropriate levels.
