Visualization: Form, Style and Power!
Today as I was pushing through my 1km swim I suddenly hit that speed bump where you start to lose power, quickly. I reached inside my mind and began visualizing my form – what my body looked like as I swam, the strong wide back of an Olympic swimmer, the narrow torso, body lean and strong. Next I visualized my style – making sure I was paying close attention to my technique and elegance as I pulled through the water, I imagined someone watching me. Lastly I visualized my power – myself as incredibly strong, feeling no resistance, reaching and pulling through the water with great physical resources at my disposal. And sure enough, I was back on track, creating a wake behind me (or so I imagined)! OK, I know I am a little crazy but afterwards on the elliptical machine I realized this visualization technique can help me with weights and body building too. I plan to work on that. Today was a rest day, tomorrow is weights so I will test my theory! My thought for today was, my mind controls the body, not the other way around!

Visualization is a highly underated technique that should be employed by any and all who are looking to improve any process: Be it sports, work, family, etc….
