I believe this lead to my shrinkage prior the triathlon. I have been doing cardio every time I weight train and my weight has dropped only a few pounds. Granted I am only doing about half the cardio, compared to what I was doing just prior to the race, but this is the reason for the early training. Get the body used to doing 30 to 40 minutes 4 days a week, and the body will not be quite as shocked when the increase comes. Oh by the way, did I mention I revolutionized training in this process. Lifting while riding the stationary bike, yes that is right. I have a road bike trainer, and the bike nestled into the dip station with a board over the two handles, loaded with weights. Pretty ingenious. This it what happens with two small children. More later, thanks for stopping by.

Finally after ten years of lifting, exercising, running, I am finally craving protein. For every good deed, deserves another, and after lifting the good deed is no longer a piece of candy or extra cream in the coffee, it is more protein. Do not know if this has a permanent place in the diet mindset, or it is the fact that I am returning from vacation and trying to right the ship after 10 days of boozing. Whatever it is I hope it is here to stay. Bring on the canned tuna and the boiled chicken, cause it tastes good. Updated some pics because I was kinda tan, but gained about 7 pounds so I was also kinda soft. "ABC" and I am getting ready to eat some chicken with NO SAUCE. YEAH BABY!!!

about a month ago. Started watching my sister’s kid on non-work days and those workouts wiped me out of the entire day. Three kids under the age of 3 = no p90x. I admit that I was beat by the "x." I have moved on, started doing triathlon training, and will focus on that hopefully through the winter. Weight down to 191 lbs., with intentions on hovering between 185-190. In the current profile pic I was 179. I was doing lots of cardio, just prior to the first triathlon in June of 2008. I missed this past year, but will resume doing the sprint tri’s in 2010. Would like to hang on to a little more muscle this time around, hence the start of training a little early. OK, a nearly a full year out, is really early, but this is my current motivation. Getting close to birthday 34, and as each year passes the harder it is to get rid of the belly fat, so my other motivation is to "ABC" (Always Be Chiseled). Corny yes, but me no likely the Belly Fat.

The chest/back video for p90x is a killa, nearly 100 pull-ups intertwined with numerous push-ups and other back exercises. Mouth was dry and very nauseous for the last group of moves. This was my fourth time through this particular video and still cannot say enough about the workort. My arms are still sore three days after the shoulders/arms routine. My camera is broken, so no pics, but I definitely feel more fit and lean at this point.

Third time was the not the charm. Managed to get through most of the exercises at 15 reps each. May take 2 months do every rep and every exercise. The thing is a beast by itself, but I have been doing them after the workouts as indicated. I have lost at least 2 lbs. since starting the program and really have been enjoying the workouts, the pump, the sweat and the energy. I am looking forward to seeing some definition in the coming weeks and months.

I am not even doing this beast 6 days a week, but already feel a difference. This is just what I needed, something/somebody showing me a program that, if mastered, will no doubt leave me in the best shape of my life. Like anything else, you get out what you put in. I love the intensity, no time to check yourself out in the mirror, increase the weight to maintain the muscle mass, hopefully. I usually gauge a workout by the soreness of my muscles, it has been 3 days since plyometrics and my legs still hurt.

Started with the program….kinda. I work 3/12 hour shift per week and right now there is just not enough energy to go around. Will go 4 days a week for sure. No question the workout is a@@ kicker, but my fear was/is the loss of size. I did the chest/back workout and nearly puked, the arms/shoulders was manageable. If I ever get to the 6 days a week and match, at least the number of reps of those on the discs, I will be awesome shape. It ain’t going to happen in 90 days, hopefully 120 days.
Today is plyometrics, something I have never done, but always wanted to try. Tomorrow is father’s day and I do not anticipate having to walk that much, which will probably be a good thing.

Appetite is raging. Cannot seem to get enough food. I have turned to bagels as a supplement. Probably not the best choice, but they are soooo delicious. Quickly approaching 200 lbs., but I am nervous about the belly fat. Been staying consistent with the cardio, but the lipid layer is back. Arms measured 17 inches solid yesterday, and that definitely makes up for a little BF. Shoulder is feeling surprising excellent, benching 3 sets of 255 x’s 6 reps. Slow and steady.

I bought my second tub of whey protein today which means I have been back at it about a month now. Really taking the "diet" seriously this time around. The first time I tried adding a lot of weight was maybe 4 or 5 years ago. I ate everything, pizza, burgers, pizza burgers…anything to get the calories. Was lifting heavy and often, but that did not prevent the lipid layer from thickening. Currently I am eating the same things day in day out, mundane and boring, but the difference in my body’s reaction to the food is different. I am eating a lot of veggies, fruits, almonds, brown rice, oatmeal, chicken, and tuna. I still cheat when I want, but I really think about the food going in as I am eating. If the food is crap, I kinda start to feel like crap and in turn want to eat something healthy. This is new for me and is a big step in living the bodysculpting lifestyle, I FINALLY LIKE EATING HEALTHY. I do eat often and probably need to eat more and also drink more water. Baby is Crying oh well.

Congrats for participating in Bodyspace. My wife and I welcomed in number 2 last May. General observation: it seems the more active the children become the less active the parents are. I personally feel like there will always be 30 minutes in a day to do something for my body. Sacrificing things like movies, golf and evenings out, has actually been fairly easy. As I sit here typing this, the 3 year old is running around the dining room table and the 8 month old is eating the first of his 3 bottles he will inhale between now and morning, I cannot help thinking about tomorrow’s workout. The freedom for that hour to crush my shoulders and tri’s.
