			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Wow,  I have been really missing in here for a while.  I have been working hard on my goals since I was last here and this weekend will be competing at Masters Nationals in Pittsburgh.  </p>
<p> I do this totally for me and I am happy with the package that I am taking.   It doesn&#8217;t matter if it&#8217;s what the judges are looking for as long as I know I gave it all that I have in me to get there and as long as I am enjoying the ride.   Of course would be nice if they liked what they saw  <img src='http://blog.bodybuilding.com/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />    Cross fingers</p>
<p> So I wanted to say thank you to all that have written to me or posted comments to me.  I know I have been bad about getting back to you all but will try to do so this week.   You kind words and encouragement help more then you know.  When I feel down or tired I read one of those support messages and it keeps me fueled to keep moving. </p>

<h4 class="title-lrg"> <strong>Let’s face it successful people think differently than unsuccessful people. Positive thoughts instead of negative ones can start you out on a path that will only spiral upward. Is it possible to reach new heights in your training by just changing your mind about the way you look at your workouts? Is it possible to rewire your neurological circuits to attain success where you never succeeded before?</strong><strong> </strong></h4>
<p><strong><span /></strong></p>
<p><strong><span /></strong><strong>Here’s just a small bite of food for thought…</strong><strong> </strong></p>

<p><strong><span /></strong><strong>In 1992 two scientists performed a study to demonstrate the power that our mind has over our muscles. The studied consisted of two groups of people. The first group performed a strength training exercise for the pinky finger, five times per week, for four weeks. The second group imagined performing the same exercise for the same frequency and time frame. In essence, the group that imagined the contractions sat quietly and didn\&#8217;t move a muscle. And to make sure they didn\&#8217;t move a muscle the lab hooked up their pinky muscle to an EMG to make sure no contractions took place.</strong><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong><span /></strong></p>
<p><strong><span /></strong><strong>At the end of the study, the group that performed the actual strength training improved their strength by 30%. What about the group that simply imagined the strength training exercise? They improved their strength by 22%&#8230;.WOW! By just thinking about it?</strong><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong><span /></strong></p>
<p><strong><span /></strong><strong>Can you begin to understand the power of a positive focused mind? Can you see that looking beyond your preconceived notions about your life, your training and eating habits can skyrocket your results?</strong><strong> </strong></p>

<p><strong><span /></strong><strong>In light of these results you can’t just sit on the couch and think about it!  We know in the long run that is a recipe for failure. But look at it this way…</strong><strong> </strong></p>

<p><strong><span /></strong><strong>That weight you are lifting will make your muscles bigger, better and stronger than you now imagine…just think beyond your self limitations! Look at that weight in a new way, think of it as a super duper fat burning tool as well as a muscle growing tool. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><font size="2">In a book I read recently called &#8220;Eat, Pray, Love&#8221;, the author is trying (like so many of us), to turn her life around. At one point, she tells herself &#8220;I will no longer harbor unhealthy thoughts&#8221;. She goes on to make the distinction that unhealthy thoughts will come. We will think them. At this point, they&#8217;re just too much a part of our mental make up. But to give something harbor is to give it refuge, it&#8217;s to welcome it.</p>
<p>I don&#8217;t know about you, but so many times my thought cycle is interrupted by either an anxiety/hypervigilant thought (&#8221;I wonder how really safe this neighborhood is? Maybe I should start lookin&#8230;&#8221;) or some regurgitated wound from the past that I just refuse to let go of. Or that person that has hurt you and lied about you and and and&#8230;.. And once that interruption occurs, I&#8217;m off and running. Creating storys and scenarios in my mind that offer nothing but mental and emotional chaos. That is giving &#8220;harbor&#8221; to unhealthy thoughts.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m closing the door on those types of thoughts. These thoughts, I&#8217;m sure, will continue to sail in, but they are no longer welcome here. I&#8217;m not even sure how that will look. I&#8217;ve read where, since you can&#8217;t win an argument with yourself, you simply have to &#8220;move away&#8221; from that&#8230;to think again..(in my case add about 50 &#8220;and again&#8221;s!). Think about something else. Pray. Break the cycle. I&#8217;ll have to see how this goes. But this is an important step I think.</p>
<p>Don Miguel Ruiz in the &#8220;Four Agreements&#8221; states that &#8220;I will be impeccable with my word&#8221;. Meaning I will only use it to heal, to promote harmony. I will not use the power of my word against anyone.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>My greatest fear is that I&#8217;ll wake up one day and cringe at the thought of a thousand moments that I wish I could have relived differently. Shedding one&#8217;s inhibitions is one of life&#8217;s most beautiful freedoms. Some would say that you can&#8217;t know bliss until you know misery&#8230;ok fine. But the variable amongst the two is choice. Would you rather be happy or miserable? Sounds like a dumb question, right? You&#8217;d be surprised&#8230; Perhaps we&#8217;ll never know the purpose of existence in general, but the purpose of living your life is simple; be happy. Its hard to be happy when you are not free and its hard to be free when you&#8217;re inhibited. I don&#8217;t think you can be truly happy while trying to live up to standards set by someone else. There is always two voices inside, sometimes they agree, sometimes they don&#8217;t. The question is which one do you listen to when they don&#8217;t? A little spontaneity never hurt anyone&#8230;well maybe it did, but I bet it was fun. So it all funnels down to happiness. Making other people happy makes me happy. I feed off of laughter plain and simple. Life is too boring without it. I&#8217;d be willing to bet that every single person under my label of TRUE &quot;friends&quot; has told me that I&#8217;m crazy at some point in my life and I don&#8217;t think I&#8217;d want it any other way. Crazy is fun, you should try it&#8230;just don&#8217;t go murkin&#8217; people or anything. What&#8217;s the harm in doing something different or saying something taboo? Break the routine. I believe in KARMA bigtime (some of you might wanna watch out). JUST KIDDING!!!</p>

<p>Getting ready for the Arnold 2008.   It is a appearances only event for me this year as I am not competing in it.  I am saving up for some great competitions in the Summer.    Plus I wanted just ONE yes just ONE year of not being on prep during the holidays.   Not that I eat all the wrong things&#8230;.but it takes the pressure off and I don&#8217;t have to be frantic if I miss my workout.   I am a bit of a freak about missed workouts during prep. </p>

<p> My home was hit by a tornado about 5 weeks ago so we have been cleaning up and repairing from that mess.   </p>
<p> Currently I am still trying to get that strength but I am preparing to attend the 08 Arnold Classic and we all know you don&#8217;t want to go there not looking your best.  So it&#8217;s a mission. </p>

<p> I was to have had some minor surgery two weeks ago that turned into major so I am in the process of healing right now.</p>
<p>I have been busy with my work and just two days ago&#8230;my house was hit by &quot;high force winds&quot;  Let&#8217;s try Tornado but they won&#8217;t say that.    My fireplace is now in the side yard.  So needless to say the last few days have been whirlwind. </p>
<p> I have missed you my friends. </p>
<p>I did start a new board/forum that will be added to my website but for now if anyone would like to check us out it is  katestewart.proboards98.com   It&#8217;s very new and the direction we are taking is not yet know.  Both men and women&#8230;fitness minded, competitors and well many that feel as I once did that life was kicking them instead of them kicking life.  </p>
<p>I hope you are all doing well and I promise to do a better job of my blog. </p>
<p> For now..heal&#8230;then train and hit next season around June.  </p>
