Well, I ended the 2009 season with winning 1st place in the OCB Eastern Seaboard States Mens Open Middle Class and followed it up by coming in 3rd in OCB’s Yorton Cup National Championships in Mens Middle Class.
I believe I made much progress from beginning to end. I started with a compeition wieght of 155lbs and came in at 165lbs at Nationals. While my symetry was phenomenal, I still believe I need to gain quite a bit more mass.
I’m not sure if I’ll be competing in 2010 as I want to gain more weight, but I plan on tweaking a few things in my diet to help me acheive my goal of 200lbs.
Starting after Christmas (i want to make sure I’m home to manage my intake), I will try to up my calories to just over 4k and my carb intake (low glycemic) to over 300g. I feel my protien will continue to stay the same around 250g to 275g.
I will be switchin my supplements during the off season as well from Probolic-SR to BSN’s Truemass (1 serving a day) and Syntha 6 (2-3 servings a day).

After my big win last year at the OCB Charm City Classic, I spent plenty of time during the off season trying to follow the advice from the judges - putting on more mass. Last year during the competition I came in at a mere 152 lbs. I believe my down fall last year was the amount of cardio I did before the competition along with a weak diet; both of which had me burning hard earned muscle. From that experience, I tweeked a few things in my eating and gym routine in hopes of helping me accomplish my goal.
During this off season, my diet had between 200 to 225 grams of protien per day while I comsumed about the same amount in carbs (simple and complex). My fat intake it tried to keep low, although I love my medium-rare ribeye which i would sometime wash down with a lil Grey Goose but not so much this off-season…LOL
My supplement regimen consisted of a stack of DHEA at 400mg and 6 OXO at 600 mg per day (ridiculously expensive). My protien preference is MHP’s Probolic SR stacked with Glutamine SR.
I normally worked out at night doing a 5 day split routine and resting every Sunday and Thursday.
I’ve worked my weight up to 185lbs, but my bodyfat percentage is still a little high at 13% (last competition I came in at 5%). So, when I compete in May, I’ll probably come in around in 160lbs.
We will see how this turns out…
Wish me luck!
