Good for you, good for me!
Trying to close in on a 300PFT is a sonuvabitch! But anything worth having is worth busting your ass for! Pullups are coming along, when I say "Im going to the bar" it’s nice to know that means Im going to break a sweat and shred up some muscle! Situps….. still suck, but there’s nowhere to go but up….. unless you quit on yourself, then you’re going to hit rock bottom….. but since quitting is for pu$$ies Im not going to worry about that prospect! Then there’s the run, today I busted out sprints at 400, 200 and 100 meters, two of each with a lap jog in between equals out to a little under two miles of busting ass, which I followed up with a solid mile run, which came surprisingly easy, legs held out like a champion and my lungs were working like I’d walked around the block!
At the end of this week I’ll have made one week of solid progress with a strenuous PT plan, after next week I’ll have hit that two-week hitch where you’ll either hook on and go the distance or you’ll miss the mark and end up nowhere…. I’m feeling a new addiction! All I have to say is thank God for Zell Miller, with the words "Reject the rejection" I put all my former misgivings and downfalls aside, picked up the phone, hammered on the pullup bar and hit the road!
Everyone who reads this, I encourage you to do the same thing…. reject the rejection! When something tells you you cannot do it, whether it be a coworker, colleague, boss, you or your body; refuse to accept NO as your final answer. Find a way around the NO, however big or small it may be, and get back on track to success!

Nothing new to report, one mile = no good, three miles = gettin’ better…… I think that’s how it goes!
I’ve been logging miles left and right as of late, everywhere from the back-country roads to the high-tech crushed rubber track I’m still beatin’ feat, I logged 10 miles last week (mon, wed, thu, sat.), and would be on schedule for 12 this week were it not for the fact that I’ve got some PT to be doing down in Florida this week…… so I’ve been keeping it slow and controlled (yesterday ran 1 mile, jogged a lap, ran 1 mile, jogged a lap then called it a day).
Other than that I’ve been doing bodyweight exercises mostly, I’m finding different PT charts from various Law Enforcement agencies, Military branches, specialty fields etc. and seeing where I stack up….. I’ve still got a ways to go, but damn if Im not actually having fun doing this shit?! Who knew the lil fat kid would actually one day embrace lactic acid burn the way he used to embrace cupcakes!
Here’s to everyone having a good training week! And Phil Valenti, if you read this I didn’t forget, I need to get my butt out there, I still have a steak dinner I owe you!

I’ve been pushing it hard in the gym for a long time now, I’ve been seeing results and feeling good, but that can only do so much! I’ve been having problems at school with roomates and my landlord, and having problems I cannot help back at home and throwing job hunting in the mix I have been stressed to the max this semester!
Thankfully relief is on the way! This coming Friday I am hitting the road with four of my Fraternity Brothers and hittin’ the road for spring break! They say it’s not the destination, but the journey that makes life worthwhile, well this should prove to be one helluva great time! Just what I needed to recharge the batteries! A little bit of sun to push out the negativity and depression of these cold winter days, and some great time with great friends in an environment with no due dates, no projects and few worries!
Now I’m not going totally crazy, I won’t be hitting the gym this week, but luckily my buddy Donny is as fitness oriented as I am, so I’ll have someone to chill with while my other two Bros are getting hammered! Plus, it’s always good to have a wingman as sober as I am!
I’m looking forward to a great week, I hope everyone else has as great a week as I am planning on having! Lift hard, lift heavy!

With alarming frequency my shoulder (the one I had cut up July of ‘06) is starting to hurt more and more. I wake up and it’s sore as hell, it sits idle for too long and it’s sore as hell. I haven’t noticed a lag in performance and it doesn’t bother me much when I lift, but with a PT test coming up to determine whether I’ll get a job or not you can imagine how this has me somewhat worried!
Anyways, I guess there’ll be a bright side to this all, if I don’t get the opportunity to PT because of my shoulder and have to take it easy for a while this may afford me another unique opportunity. I recently got a nibble on a job application I threw out there, by the U.S. Department of State. Hopefully one way or another, things will work out and I’ll end up right where I want to be!
Allright, just ranting and ravin’ again! Good day and good lifting everybody!

Okay sports fans! Helluva day today! Turns out no test in my Criminal Procedure course (Thank the Gods!!!) so we watched "My Cousin Vinny" instead! One of my favorites! Furthermore, I missed a week of classes due to a job interview…. thought that would K.O. my grades this semester, professors are letting me off the hook totally free due to the fact that Im on my way to becoming a protector of society:) (Five-0)!
And now for the good part! Monday is Arm day (as dictated by my trainer, the one and only Phil Valenti!) so I hit the gym hard! My training partner and I tore it up! We kinda do our own things since we’re working for different goals, but we spot and help motivate one another throughout the course of our lifting! Tore it up big time today! My biceps have the best pump I’ve gotten in a while, and I busted out ten reps for two sets on the DB overhead press using the 110lbers.!!! F***in’ hardcore kinda night!!! The intensity of today’s lift reminded me of the first time I lifted arms with Phil! I can barely lift my arms right now and I’m lovin’ it!
Finished off the night by chugging a mint-chocolate ON shake, then gettin’ a quick tan in (I know I know….. freakin’ pretty boy stuff…. but it’s free with my membership, so I figured I might as well take advantage!)
Anyways, I’m doing good, I hope I can motivate others to do just as good (If not better) as well! Everyone have a great week! Lift hard, play hard!

I have to start out by saying a huge thanks to my trainer and friend Phil Valenti (PhysiquesbyValenti)!!! I’m currently at 220lbs. I’ve got definition never thought possible before and my attitude and self-esteem have never been higher! Thanks Phil! You’ve given me the motivation to push to new heights and become one helluva scary police candidate:)
My new found persistence and motivation couldn’t have come at a better time, Im packing right now to fly to my panel interview with the Anne Arundel County Police Department (Maryland) on Tuesday! Im going to walk into that room with my head held high and the fabric tight around my chest and arms! (The pants are some ill-fitting, fat-man pants, so the quads won’t be quite as showcased…. damn). I’m looking forward to seeing where I stack up on the Physical Fitness Test in a few weeks!!!!
Also, things are going great back at school! Im into my last semester and slated to graduate with my B.S. (Bachelor’s of Science…. not the other kind of BS) degree in May!!! Also, found a new gym in the town my school’s in! Usually the school gym gets real crowded with resolution people and kids wanting to look good for spring break, plus their equipment is starting to get real rundown and with no apparent care to maintain it, the rec center was wearing real thin on me! Anyways, the new gym looks like the set of Pumping Iron, has the charm of an abandoned factory and the comfort level of a dungeon…. I FREAKING LOVE IT!!! No crowds, no pretty people, just plates as far as the eye can see and enough chalk to last till the second coming!!!
Allright, I hope everyone who reads this is having a great new year! Stay strong, lift big, work hard, eat clean and love life!!! Peace er’body!

Well, a change in lifestyle leads to all things great. If you’re willing to sacrifice and stick to a well tuned diet and fitness regime, your road will become paved with gold. This being said, due to my sudden happier, healthier demeanor, I have been tasked with grocery shopping for the family today, by that I mean its out with the old (Crap food) and in with the new (Healthy and refreshing food)……. Man are they gonna hate the shit I come home with:)
Oh well, it’ll be good for them! Plus Im glad I’ll be helping to do my part in getting my family’s health headed in a good direction, as my family is not the healthiest (we’re all pretty much overweight, fathers side has a history of stroke/heart disease/diabetes) so I know what I have to look forward to if I don’t take care of myself.
On other fronts, I haven’t started my trek towrads personal trainer certification yet….. Im waiting to get into the rythm of my last semester before I start anymore projects. I only have a few classes, but one is located in Grand Rapids, which means I’ll be making a two-hour round trip every monday and wednesday morning for one class! Oh well, even more of a reason to have my cardio donw before 7am!
Health and Happiness everyone! Have a great new year!

Well, weight’s still going down (Even back home! I thought that would be impossible with all the crap laying around I could stuff my face with), Im down into the 220’s…. still the high 220’s, but the 220’s none the less!
January 7th I’ve been invited to take a written test for the Anne Arundel County Police Department in Maryland, when I pass that I’ll be able to go back in February and take the physical fitness test and do an oral interview with the department. I’ll also be able to test in Prince George’s county for their department in February as well, so now I have post college plans cemented (My original plan fell under the axe of a medical disqualification)!
Also, at the recommendation of my trainer and friend Phillip Valenti, of thee one and only Physiques by Valenti (www.physiquesbyvalenti.com), I’ve decided that since I’ve got a pretty light last semester of college, I’ll work for my certification as a personal trainer! I’m truly excited about the prospect of having something to add to my repertoire which is kinda out of the norm for most guys fresh out of college!
And the best news yet! Though I’ll most likely be leaving the state of Michigan soon, I have a great incentive to come back and visit my folks more (that sounds awful the way I said that!) anyways, my dad is a developer, and one of the pieces of property he has is going to get a gym in it! It should be a pretty good spot! Tons of space to sprawl out equipment on! And the best part, I’ll get to hit it up for nadda when I come back! BOOYAH! just wish we coulda put it up much earlier!
Anyways, Things went up, then went down, it looks like they’re on their way back up now:) Merry Christmas to everyone, and a Happy and Prosperous New Year to all!

Well, it’s officially official, the worst semester of my college career finally came to a close. I don’t make excuses….. if someone ****s up, it’s because they didn’t plan ahead or were not willing to work for it (There are very few circumstances that present a legitimate excuse). I could have planned better and approached the semester with more focus, my mindset has been totally Fukked this year! I went into the year angry, because my school made me promises that it’s *ahem* Criminal Justice program would make me the best police officer ever! Well that was a load of horse-shit, I did my internship with a 3,000+ department this summer, seeing more shit in three months than someone back here would ever see in a lifetime, and I realized you can’t learn to be a good police in a classroom….. you gotta earn that shit! SO I was pissed at my school because they blew smoke up my ass, and I was even more pissed at myself because I didn’t research schools better before I went to college (I could’ve went somewhere that matters)…. a criminal justice degree is a dime a dozen nowadays…. I could’ve gone to a language school, or taken pre-law somewhere, but no…. I took the lazy way out! Fukkin idiot!
As for the classes, A few I did reasonably well in, another select few I would’ve could’ve more productive at lighting a fire underwater! I had some deep shit on my mind all year (stuff which I cannot control nor influence at all, yet has a strong influence on my life), so every time I went to class I’d go…. but wasnt really there.
Anyways….. moral of the story…. there is no moral to the story…. Im just plain angry! Not to mention since Im home on holiday break I had to find a gym to lift at, the only place around wanted 30 bucks…………… FOR A FUKKIN’ WEEK!
Angry doesn’t begin to describe how I feel…… at least I can be thankful my family, the small select few I call my friends, and myself all have our health!
