Luckily, the local Jewish Community Center (few blocks from my house) was nice enough to give me a free week membership to their weight room while my stuff is being taken care of.

I got in two good workout days last week, and my back is holding up well.  In fact, it feels fine now, and I’m finally ready to start my regular lifting routine.

M: Chest - Biceps

T: Quads - Hams

Th: Shoulders - Triceps

F: Back - Calves

I’m still a bit paranoid that my daughter will bring home another cold from pre-school.  It’s been one after another for so long now, I can’t remember the last time I made it through a whole week’s workout.

I’ve really lost strength and mass.  I need to get back in the swing of things.

Woohoo! Lifted today!

Alright, I couldn’t wait any more.  My back was still a little off, but it didn’t exactly hurt, so I went at it today, doing chest and biceps.  Felt great!

Except it was a little ego-bruising.  I’m a lot weaker now.  I was amazed how much strength I had lost.

Anyways, hopefully I’ll be able to get back into a good routine and get my ass in shape.  I have a LONG way to go, and the only way to get there is by consistent work!

Back still isn’t perfect, so…

I think today is yet another day where lifting would be a bad idea.  Can you say, ****?

It doesn’t hurt too badly though, and it’s the best it’s been in days, so I think I’m going to test it a little bit today with some yoga and stretch it out pretty well.  With all the illness and injury lately, not only have I gotten weaker, but my flexibility has suffered as well.  I need to get some more yoga in to keep my muscles loose.

Back STILL hurts. :(

If it ain’t one thing it’s another.  My back is still bad this morning.  I’m getting SO freakin’ upset it’s not even funny.  I just want to get back into a regular routine of working out.  I’ve lost a great deal of my gains in the past 6 months.

We’ll see how I feel tomorrow.

Waiting…

It’s been some time (months) since I’ve been able to work out consistently.  My daughter started her first year of pre-school and brings home a new cold every other week.  We’ve all been sick this entire school year.

I don’t know about other people, but my immune system is obviously not the best.  When I lift, my immune system plummets like a stone.  If anyone is sick around me, I get it within 24 hours of heavy lifting.  So I’ve been idle for a while now.

Not to mention that I’m currently nursing a strained upper back.

I’ve also had to deal with a long standing health issue of Panic Disorder.  This was brought to a head last summer (see the forum thread "Creatine ****ed me, hard").  Fortunately I found a doctor who took this condition seriously and I’ve been a lot better under her care.

I’m patiently waiting for illness to fade away and for my back to get strong.  I need to get back into the game and get back some of the gains I made last year (and then some).

Can’t give up!
