Day 4/45: Weights

Rowing bicep curls.jpgsquats.jpg

We started at the same time 5:55 am. Went to gymkhana ground with weights (went on roshan's bike) and worked out on the steps of the 400 metres ground in gymkhana.

We worked out the following muscles (in the same order)

Thighs, Hamstrings, Back, Chest, biceps, triceps, calves.

It was fun doing weights in the open ground.

Roshan gave his best.

Day 3/45: Morning walk

It was the third day and we again made it on time... a little early as I had to attend microsoft theory day here at iisc. We started at 5:50 am and went to gymkhana ground. We walked for nearly 5 rounds. The walk was very brisk and tiring. It was a good cardio exercise. Roshan gave his best even today.

We will be doing dumbbells tomorrow.

Day 2/45: Morning

It was the second day of our workout. It requires great will power to wake up on time and make it in time to the workout. Amazingly we were at 5:55 on the dot in front of the New hostel block. We both reached exactly at the same second. A good start for the day :-)

Both of us had brought our workout bags, filled with all kinds of fitness gears. We went to gymkhana ground. Roshan looked quite out of energy and motivation.

We started skipping.. but roshan found it really difficult to concentrate..

I thought of starting with an intense circuit but felt he wasn't mentally prepared for it. We did a few punches, jabs, hooks and upper cuts. That brought a glow in roshan's face and I did see some energy flowing in his body.

We decided to jog and run. We ran for two rounds (slow-moderate-fast running) and roshan was extremely tired. I noted that he was physically capable but his mental makeup stopped him from performing. I felt, there still is a long way to go for this chap to meet his fitness needs.

We then went on a ciruit with the following exercises....

1) jumping jacks 30 secs
2) Push-ups 16 * 3
3) mountain climbers 30 secs

4) Prisoner squats 30 seconds

Just a few minutes back I thought its a long way to go for this chap But after seeing him do the above ciruit thrice without any break, I realised.. uff.. he is good! He gave his best and didn't stop anywhere, I think I must give him a 8 on a ten point scale. He was really very good. I bet in case he continues with the same enthu, he is bound to hit his fitness goals in less than a month.

Way to go roshan.... kick defense IMAG0194_edited.jpg

43 more days.. I am sure you will be proud of a different YOU.

Day 1/45 : Morning walk

15th december 2008
It was the coldest morning ever in our IISc campus. My alarm didn't serve any purpose, it rang at 5:30 and i very comfortably switched it off. Roshan called me at 5:40 and i rushed to freshen up for our planned morning walk. We have been thinking about working out from the past few months but never executed. We thought it was necessary that we stop talking and start doing... Roshan had shopped for this 45 days fat loss programme that i promised I will render. Today happens to be the first day. We were in time 5:55 am on the dot sharp. WE started our walk from the A mess and followed this route mrigasira-library-faculty hall - EC - D gate - nias - ramaiah hospital(where we jogged for about a kilometer) - New E and then back to the hostel. We made up our mind not to miss tomorrow's workout :-)

We did brisk walking and roshan was a little tired. I sensed true lethargicness in him. Realised that its going to be tough for me to train him, but since he is projecting enormous amount of will power, I think he can curb his lethargicness. Lets see after 45 days :-) I am sure the improvement will be 100 folds...
