Easy Does It

Sunday, January 11th, 2009

Now that I have gotten into my diet and exercise plan I am feeling so much better. I wouldn’t call it diet and exercise though, more like a life style change. My new plan is so easy and I lost 7 pounds in a week. I know you tend to lose more in your first week, but I think I can average 1-2 pounds a week from here to my goal weight. My doctor is interested in the weight, where I am interested in feeling better and how my clothes fit. Right now I have much more energy. I have had a lot of time to work on this plan after being injured for a while. I know how to change it up to keep my body from getting used to the exercises. I am looking forward to my Tuesday weigh in, I think it will tell me if this is going to work.

The Biggest Loser

Monday, January 5th, 2009

Tomorrow is the start of season 7 of The Biggest Loser, and the start of my new life. I have decided to weigh in every Tuesday morning before the show. I am very excited about starting my new diet and exercise program. I have found something that I can really stick to and that is very important because I will be less likely to fail. After having been side lined with back problems I have had time to do research on diet and exercise. Not every diet or exercise program is designed for everyone. I have taken parts of differen’t diets and put them together to fit me. I have also found that doing pilates between weight training days helps me mix things up enough that I’m not racing around to find a new program to shock my muscles. I know that it will take a long time to reach my goal weight, probably a year. I will be posting my weight on my bodyspace page if anyone wants to follow my progress and watch me become The Biggest Loser! LOL

Starting over

Saturday, April 26th, 2008

I’m starting my whole diet and workout program over again. I haven’t done anything in the last three weeks and have gone up two dress sizes. One of my grandmothers passed away and the other has cancer and we are being told she won’t make it to Christmas. I just kind of gave up. I’m starting over today not just because I want to but because I know they would want me to. One is 82 and the other was 84. I want to be that old one day and the only way to do it is to take care of myself.

Vacation trouble! Questions too!

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

Well, I went off my diet and excercise program for my long vacation. Boy was that a mistake, I’m 8lbs heavier now! Atleast I know that my diet and excercise program was working. Oh, does anyone else not feel as good physically and mentally when they miss their workout or fall of a diet? I am so glad to be home to my weights and my elliptical. Also, should I start back at the same intensity for my workouts or back it up a little? All help is greatly appreciated!

Cardio Question

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

I was wondering, is it better to do cardio before or after breakfast? Also, why is it better to do it before or after breakfast? All answers are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The Perfect Pushup workout and lower body weights

Monday, February 25th, 2008

Today I did the Perfect Pushup routine for my upper body and did abs with lower body weight training. For those of you who do not know what the Perfect Pushup system is that I’m always talking about, here is the website www.PerfecPushup.com. It is basically two rotating hand grips that allow your body to rotate naturally throughout the pushup. It comes with a workout program for different exercises and you do the exercises based on your level of strength. There is even a program for people who cannot do a regular pushup. If you have any other questions about it send me a message on my BodySpace page.

The Perfect Pushup

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

My husband has been using the Perfect Pushup for about a month. He is now doing 90 pushups total each workout. I can already see new muscle developement in his arms, back, abs and shoulders. If you like a good upper body workout that is easy to follow and doesn’t take too long, I would give this a try. I do some as an upper body workout when I want something different and it is great.

The Test

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

I decided to see just how much of an impact diet and exercise has on my life. I stopped exercising and stopped eating healthy for three weeks. I gain four pounds of fat and my clothes are tight. The worst part is that I’m tired and stressed. I’m not bowling well, my posture is getting bad and I have back pain. I now know that not only is diet and exercise important for health and appearance, but good for the mental state as well. Result, I’m back with my old habbits. I did cardio yesterday and it felt great. I started to eat well again today.

The Perfect Pushup is great!

Monday, January 28th, 2008

I bought my husband the Perfect Pushup set for Valentine’s Day. We are doing healthy gifts this year. He was in the military and said it is harder than bootcamp! I tried it too and the pushups are much harder than normal. If you like to do pushups, I recommend you get this. It works more of the upper body than a normal pushup routine.

Great Results From The Bare Minimum Program!

Monday, January 21st, 2008

I have been following Bill Belfert’s Bare Minimum training program for about three weeks. I went out to buy a dress yesterday and found that in three weeks I have droped a full dress size! I thought my clothes were getting loose! I was using a weight scale to measure my progress but I don’t think that is an accurate way to track progress anymore. It was only showing a slight drop in weight. I had forgotten that muscle weighs more than fat inch per inch. I guess I’ll just do measurements and get some calipers. Can anyone recommend a good brand or style of calipers? Thanks.
