I know this may sound quite negative, but Bally’s sucks. Not only did they shorten their hours from closing at 11:00 during the week to 10:00 on weekdays and 9:00pm on friday. They open at 8am and close at 6pm on weekends. My wife and I cannot stand this schedule they were open more hours when we got our membership 6 years ago. The staff has become increasingly rude by any standards. I’m a marine and a firefighter you don’t have to be that nice to me I’m just there to move weight(but dont be a jerk) mutual respect goes a long way. The club manager is a great guy and has helped get my diet on track, but the changeover in management has left the workers of this club wih no real supervision. On to todays fiasco. I was coming in to get my cardio in and got there at 5 when I was informed by the girl at the desk what was the point of working out they close in an hour. My response was good I am only doing an hour of cardio. to which she just scoffed. at 5;30 she cut the music off and for every 5 minutes after that was an announcement that the gym was closing. This was annoying usually they only announce the closing once. at 540 the desk girl turned off the lights music and tvs all at once the shift in light almost made me fall off the treadmill. I still had 20 minutes WTF. I asked if she could at least turn the lights back on since i was reading while doing my cardio. My answer was a huge NO. whatever no wonder ballys is going bankrupt again. Freakin jerks!

I met with my trainer today briefly. We discussed that it was not likely that I would be able to stick to the diet plan 100% on Christmas eve, and Christmas day. Let’s be realistic. I am now sitting at 249. The weight goal for January 2, 2009 is 242. I know that I should be able to pull this off. I might however need to up the cardio a little. I am excited that I can enjoy 2 meals outside my diet plan the next few days. I am more excited that I can get down to business after christmas.

I am starting to head into week 3 of my new diet and training regimen. So far I have battled the flu (still have the cough), work and school schedule, holiday parties, and a cramp in my right calf that won’t go away (from a really deep bruise Jiujitsu practice). I have gone from 261 to 249 in the last month. From 255 - 249 in the past 2 weeks. I would like to be prgressing faster but I know that consistency is the key to getting the job done. I am so ready to get the holidays over with and really turn up the heat on my progress. This blog is so great because it is such a nice outlet to keep in the perfect mindset to accomplish my daunting task of losing the 55 lbs by march 30

Yesterday was my seventh wedding anniversary. My wife found it funny that she got to pick the restaurant for once because I could only have chicken, rice, and salad. I already pre-planned my diet for how I would order. It went well we had lots of fun, and I did’nt even mess up my meal plan. Happy Anniversary Em, Love ya

Day 2 of my diet and workout plan, and I woke up this morning with the flu. Maybe it’s my crazy school and work hours I don’t know. So I slept the entire day waking up to the alarm every three hours to eat. By late afternoon I was able to tough out a workout. Now it’s back to school. Fun.

I got all of the food I am going to eat all prepped and sorted for an easy week of eating. It took about an hour. But I should save a ton of time.

Today I got my diet plan from my trainer buddy that I will be following until March 30,2009. I have never stuck to any kind of regimen for more than a couple of weeks. I’m thinking that the accountability to someone else factor might possibly make the difference. At any rate This diet has me eating 7 times a day so I know I won’t go hungry. I’ll just have to keep my coolers packed for work and school. So here goes, sorry Bar I have more important things to do lol.

Well, I just jumped the thanksgiving hurdle. I managed to get through mthat wonderful gluttonous holiday without having any leftovers in the fridge. Now it is time to get down to business. I have avoided working out long enough the last couple of years, I have moderately worked out. Mostly lifting weights and avoiding cardio like the plague. Now I am shifting gears and searching for balance in my workouts. I want to participate in more sports and get my weight down to a healthy 200 lb range give or take. I havent weighed that since I got out of the Marine Corps in 2002. But that is where I felt the best. I have tried to diet down but have found that life in the fire house is not condusive to losing weight. These guys love to eat. I have my work cut out for me but now I am motivated. Wish me luck!
