I passed my PhD qualifying exam! Hells yeah!

On the 16th I had my PhD qualifying exam.  Essentially, passing it does not get you your PhD, but it allows you to be eligible for it.  It is a very intimidating exam, essentially 3 professors grill you for around 2 hours on your knowledge of many areas of nutrition.  I was very happy to have passed and after the exam was over, the head of the committee told me that I did the best of any student he could remember so that made me feel REALLY great!  He said "there are no holes in your knowledge of metabolism."  Coming from a professor, that meant a lot to me.  So I’m really excited, now I just have to get my research done and write up my thesis!
