Week 1 complete and making changes…

Sunday, April 13th, 2008

Week 1 is over and I am dealing with a little soreness. I took a couple days off to recover and have totally changed my workout. I was doing a little research and decided on a whole new routine. I want the focus to be strength so I can eventually compete in an amateur strongman. I completed the first workout and feel exhausted. You can find the new plan on my page and I will be updating it as I go…probably gonna end up making a few tweaks here and there also.

Starting over once again

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

Well I was doing great for awhile. Within a years time pushed my weight from 155 to 187 while training like a bodybuilder. Some unforseen occurances changed things up and I dropped a lot of weight, now weighing 168. I am trying a totally new approach to things. I was bored with the bodybuilding training style so now I am incorporating many different concepts into my routine. My main goal is strength but I want an overall fitness.

I do the major lifts for each bodypart but also do some bodyweight and band work, plyometrics, and cardio. I am using the max effort and dynamic effort, rest pause, high reps at times, and doggcrapp principles. I never want my body to adapt.

I just started again this week so still fighting the soreness. You can expect my 1RM stats to go up very shortly, especially that squat. I can do more than that right now but trying to ease into it.

Anyways thats it for now, I will keep you posted on progress and what works well. I also stopped using supplements except for whey and a multivitamin. I was taking more before and when I went off of them I dropped size quick. I don’t wanna have to rely on supplements.

Another thing to keep in mind is I work out at home. I only have a barbell set, squat rack, adjustable bench, 45lb kettlebell, bands, and a jump rope. Making it work with only these items.
