Well well well it’s fall and time to up my calories to put on some size. I will use what I learned from last years bulk and try to do even better this year. I now know 80% of bodybuilding is nutrition and consistency. You have to eat clean healthy food every day and time your food intake to get results. Suuplements are good but the core of your diet is your food. I will start out with some German Training volume to shock my body into growth. I had been using the DC method which I thought was good. I will try this for 6 weeks and see what I can accomplish. I will be using Gaspari nutrition for my supplements during this six weeks. (size on,super pump 250 and novedex xt stak) I always train with my animal pak vitamins when bulking and hitting the heavy weights. I will be using Optimun BCAA 5000 and gluatmine for recovery and all my protein powders are Optimun nutrition. My cardio will consist of two 3 miles runs on a hike and bike trail ran under 7 minutes per mile. I usually go to the trails right after work and bust out the three miles and will try to spread this out during the week. This will be at least 24 hours before leg day and never after. I will train a lagging body part twice a week and alternate the body parts. I have alot of lagging body parts!! Specifically I am going to hit my hammy’s, Biceps, and chest to help them catch up to my other body parts. My gym is almost done with it being a bit over 300 square feet. I have added a leg press, leg extention/curl,roman chair, miltary press bench, and a seated preacher curl bench to my arsenal of machines. I will put some video of my gym and workouts soon. I just got over being sick where I lost 9 pounds to 176 from 185. I will have to start out slow and work up to the heavy weights so as not to injure myself. I lost three weeks of training being sick but my body is now healed of any aches and pains. I plan on updating this weekly to describe my progree and hopefully get some input from anyone who has something to offer me in advice. I’m always open to being helped out because I’m constantly trying to improve. (you might save me some money- I buy so many magazines!) I’m pumped and ready to go! cheers

I was so pumped,on top of my short body building world. I bulked up to 205lbs through winter and sucessfully cut down to 185lbs through spring. In my bulking phase I was lifting heavy weights like a mad man. I had lowered the poundages when I was cutting. Thats where I made my mistake by not realising it had taken time for my body to get accustomed to lifting heavy poundages. After reaching my cut down weight of 185lbs, I decided to start a clean bulk. I continued to eat clean and raised my carb intake slightly to help build some muscle. I started my clean bulking phase by doing squats with no problem. I loaded up my bar for some bench presses and just killed my chest. two days later My shoulder was hurting so bad,it was sore but I decided to push through all that. After completing my second week it became apparent that I had actually hurt my shoulder and it needed time to heal up. I was bummed as I am a very driven person who does not like to fail. I have goals that need to be completed and this was going to set me back. A clearer head prevailed when I remembered why I was doing this in the first place. I want to take care of my body and make it the best that it can be for the rest of my years on this earth. I decided to stay positive and upbeat and make the most of my workouts. No upper body training but I can still do cardio and train my legs. I will train my legs three times a week with two sessions of cardio thrown in between. After two weeks I will reevaluate my injury and see where I need to go. Until then lets work hard and stay positive no matter what you are up against. YOU Gotta want it bad enough!

I have reached my goal and now I am ready for another goal to start. I plan on raising my calorie intake up a bit and try to add some lean muscle mass through the summer. I currently weigh 185lbs and would like to stay close to that range. I plan on adding 2 inches to my legs and an inch to my arms and chest. Im going to raise my intensity back up and lift heavy for the next 8 weeks. I go on vacation at the coast in July and want to look awesome.

Reaching your goals can be rewarding and confusing as well. I had bulked up (pics in my profile) to 205 lbs. I had put on some size as well as some fat. It was a dirty bulk and My first, so I really did not know what I was doing. I thought eat big and lift big was my new mantra. How wrong I was. I soon realised after starting my cut, that all the extra fat had to come off and it was going to be a sacrifise in doing it. My goal was to cut down to 185lbs by June. Well guess what, here it is May and Im at 186lbs. A pound away from my goal with a whole month to lose a pound. The carb starving diet with moderate lifting worked in taking off most of the fat,but In the process I gave up much of the muscle I had worked so hard to put on. So In short Im happy for reaching a goal but not happy with the results. I have to reevaluate my goals for this year and make some decisions. I want to do a clean bulk starting in August and would like to have some ideas thrown at me from experiensed persons. I will take the advise and put together another plan of attack for the remainder of the year. So guys and gals give me some ammo. Thanks CJ
