Well I’ve been away for a little while, but now I’m back more dedicated than ever. Getting ready to move from Oklahoma to Michigan, and go back to school. I’ve really gotten myself back on track and along the way I realized that I have alot of knowledge about working out and proper diet, so I’m thinking about getting certified as a personal trainer while I’m in school. If anyone has any tips on getting certified, I’m listening. Well, time to go to the gym.

I’ve used a test booster before and had some really god results, and now that I’m back in a good routine I’m interested in trying it again. If anyone has any input I would appreciate it.

So I’ve been back in a real gym for 3 weeks now, and I have to say that it feels great!!!! I’m trying to focus more on my form and just cutting fat than adding mass for right now. 15-30 min of cardio and at least 1 hr lifting. The bigges thing I’ve noticed is that my chest is much weaker than I thought it would be. It’s a little embarrassing to only be putting up 150 on the barbbell or 50 with dumbbells. Especially when I was lifting 80lbs dumbbells for chest 2-3 years ago. It’s tought to get back into that groove. Well, time to get going. Stay strong everyone!!

Alright, another week down!! Man what a eye opening week it has been. As I said before I am not able to have a gym membership right now. In times past this would have pretty much been a death blow to my training. This time……..not so much. This time has been different. While I don’t have all of the bugs worked out, my home training has gone great!!!! You really don’t have to have all of the stuff from the gym to get a good workout. My biceps feel more full and defined after this week than they did after a month at the gym, and I have even done arms yet!! I think this has been a good experiance for me. It has forced me to slow down and focus on form, posture, and dedication. The other big booster for me this week is the fact that I have finally lost almost all of the weight that I put on in March (at least 15 lbs) after quitting smoking. Now I’m still fighting the cravings now and then, but man it feels good to be done.
The biggest thing I am fighting right now is keeping a proper diet going. Now I will admit that I am to blame for straying from time to time, but surprisingly I find myself feeling like my wife is the biggest issue with my diet. I am commited to cut down to just the bare bones that you need. Unfortunately she is a much more picky eater. I think that she is starting to come around though. (since I am losing way faster than her) I admitt that eating right dosen’t always taste the best, but that is the sacrifice you have to make to get the results like what I / we want!! Anyways, I should probably get going. My poor wife is stuck in bed with a bad case of the flu.
So stay strong everyone, and keep focused on the goal!!!

So I have a couple different things to hit on here. Mainly just to get some stuff off my chest.
Ok, the first thing has to do with gym etiquette. I’m usually not to worried about what anyone else is doing as long as it’s not going to hurt me or them. Normally I would just as soon not say a word while I am at the gym. So maybe this is just me and I’m a damn weird guy, but it drives me nuts when a group of guys (I’ll give it to them that they were in way better physical condition than me) stand around one machine / bench and talk. Doing the same excercise for 45 min. Maybe that’s how they get into shape, but for those of us not blessed with the greek god gene, that would just make me a lazy fat guy who is in the way. I know I am not in great shape right now, but come on. Don’t stand in the same little area with your buddies bullshitting around when you can do that somewhere else. Like I said. Maybe I’m just a wacko, but I don’t go to the gym to laugh and goof around with my buddies. A little disclamer here……I am not including when you have a workout partner and you are both just crackin some jokes in between sets. This is when there is a group of 3-5 guys just taking up space. Ok enough about that.
Now. I have really run into a dillema. Due to some financial issues, I can’t afford to continue to have a gym membership. (trust me if I could talk the wife into it I would have one) Thankfully I have a treadmill and a few dumbbells here at the house and I could probably swing a couple more. The up side is that I will not be restricted by the gym hours and my work schedual. Meaning more time to workout. The downside is the lack of variety, and some equipment that I definately can’t afford to buy. So can I really get a good quality workout here at the house? I am hoping so…..This is not the best time for this to hapen seeing as how I just made my first week without buying a pack of smokes, and only smoking about 3. (all of the weight I had lost in the first 2 weeks of working out has come back in 1 great week) Anyways, as always if anyone reads my nonsense, I am always open to tips, ideas, and any other helpful advise. So thanks for letting me blow off some steam.

So I have been looking into the animal paks. Does anyone have any imput on if they are even worth thinking about taking.
Also, I only have 30 min in the morning to lift. Is that to little time? I kinda think so. At one point I was lifting for up to 2 hrs. So what do you think is enough time?
Let me know what you think.

So here I am again. Starting to pull myself back out of the mud and muck that can be life. I joined this site some months ago thinking that I was going to get back in shape and stop being a fat lazy bastard. Well…… so much for that. I’ll keep it simple and just say that life happened and screwed it up. Last month I looked in the mirror and didn’t know the guy looking back at me. I felt sick to my stomach. What the hell have I done to myself?!?!?!? Now I could try and blame it all on my job, wife, the army or even combat stress, but no! This is all my doing! Nobody else to blame but me.
It’s been 3 weeks since I made the decision to clean up my act. Now I wasn’t doing drugs or drinking a 5th of whiskey a day, but I was eating like crap, smoking a pack of cigaretts a day, and basiclly being a lazy fat ass. All of that is bad enough for me.
The caluses are coming back to my hands. I have found that place that I could always go to clear my head no matter what the situation. The gym has become my escape. A far to short period of time every day where I am in controll of everything I do, and when I leave, my body is beaten and sore. Perfect! I couldn’t ask for anything more.
An old Army buddy told me something that has stuck with me about lifting and combat. The only way you know you have done it right is when the only thing left under all of the BS is: BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS.

As you can tell from my stats I have not been lifting for quite a while. In fact it’s been over a year since I really did any major workout besides work. Now that I have re-gained focus and determind to push myself harder than ever before, I’m realizing that alot has changed in my absence. I’ve found a good creatine, but I am still looking for a quality protien powder. I am currently taking Muscletech, but I’m not really happy with it. So if anyone has anything that they have had good results with, please let me know. I am open to all suggestions.
