the anger you get when people call you skinny when u are just cut.
I hve been out several times and people say something about "being skinny" . I’m sure anyone reading this feels what im saying. I had this encounter last night..Someone said, " last time i saw u , you were blown up, now you are skinny"……I know it isnt a huge deal, but it runs through you when u work your ass off in the gym and someone says you are skinny..
I GUESS WE SHOULD JUST TAKE OFF THE SHIRT AND LET THEM SEE WHATS UP HUH? HAHA..

Hey at least your in shape, my favorite is when people say there in shape, and there just skinny. Some people don’t realize the work that goes with the cutts, and muscles.

I am HUGE in my mind, lol…I feel your pain, I am 2 weeks out from a comp, dropping BF (no idea what I am at right now), but will come in 100% better than I ever have been.

I know exactly what your talking about. When I was 190lb 25%bf, everybody said :"wow you’ve become so fat!", now that i’m 155lb (5′8") and 14%bf the say "omg, you’re so skinny!" I guess you just have to disregard peoples comments and just be happy with what you’ve accomplished. Cheers

Hey Steve, firstly you look incredible, whoever said you were skinny is trippin. Reminds me of people saying bb are obsessed when I would call it dedication.

I just happened to stumble across your page.
People actually call you "skinny"?, seriously?, are they in need of an eye exam?. A skinny person is the same size from under their arms all the way down to their ankles, and frail, very frail. I would have tell those people that they need to look at you again, because you’re not skinny and you’re not the lesat bit frail, you have bulges in all the right places……thats not a come-on, just a compliment….ok?
Maybe the next time someone says to you that you are skinny, just start laughing like it was the funniest thing you have ever heard, then just stop laughing all of sudden, and look at them and say, OH!, you were serious?, it will take them a few minutes to realize that they have just been politely insulted.
Trust me my friend, my Uncle is a well respected psychiatrist here in the North Texas area, I have picked up a few things from him over the years and one of the things is how to play with someones mind……especially when that person is being an insulting ass to someone like you who has made a promise/commitment to yourself to create a better body.
Sorry, I can get off on a tangent sometimes, but I go through similar things at my office. If you read my profile then you would understand that I am in the process of losing weight, and back before I decided to change my life and body, people at work would tell me that I was fat right to my face and then at lunch time the same people would ask me if I wanted to go have a burger and fries with them. I now consider those people to be hypocrits. Now that I have lost just over 40 pounds and still going for another 20, and am on a version of the Zone Diet (which is working very well for me) they still offer me candy, soft drinks, cake, pie, you-name-it. I just look at them and laugh. They ask what I am laughing at. I say, I have made a descision to change my body, and there isn’t ANYTHING that will tempt me with to make me go back to the way I was.
Sorry, but like I said, I can rant sometimes.
I’ll end with this, if you decide to get more muscular, or cut up even more, whatever you decide, then I wish you all the luck in the world with it.
You are the kind of person that I would be proud to call "friend".
Have a great evening,
Mike

I get that all the time. I’m 6 foot and anytime I decide to get my 6 pack back or to cut up a bit more inevitably someone says "wow youre skinny" I USED to be super skinny and I USED to be super fat so now that I’m in great shape and trim, everyone says I’m skinny. It’s like HELLO! V TAPER, 6 PACK! Not to mention I have a better body shape than the so called "big guys" Yea they’re big but ever notice the loose shirts they wear to hide their beer gut? Oh you didn’t know, then shut your mouth and talk to me when you know what you’re talking about. I always get an inner laugh when the same person who said I was skinny will see me in the gym doing 2-3 times the amount of weight they’re doing even though they have 10-20 lbs on me.

Yup…same here Steve. You’re an inch taller than me and same weight and same cut, but I have a 30" waist…I get same comments. But they look at my arms and shoulders and then think again…like you say…take the shirt off! LOL.

Hey BIG MAN, they are jealous of your muscles, don’t know what the hell to day, so they put you down, that’s how it is all over, man. You know the bustin ass work you’ve done in the gym, the thousands of pounds you have lifted, when you catch em lookin pump em up and feel gr8. Steve, you are a son of the Most High, unique, special and have built an outstanding temple. I hope in the past year you have grown to love yourself and not depend on others to motivate you. Your success is well documented. LEAD ON, Peace, Rich

Arrgh! I hate that! When I’m bulky and bloated looking everyone is comfortable with the way I look. I AM NOT. For them however, a smoother rounder body makes them feel comfortable with thier selves. Anytime others make negative remarks about a body as perfect as yours, just know it is about thier comfort level. Looking at you and knowing how hard you train/diet makes them feel ashamed of how they live daily eating junk and being lazy. You take great pride in your body built by thier efforts…do not let them get to you, secretly they are wishing they have you have built…but they are not willing to work for it. When I am low body fat, people act really mean to me, saying because abs are visble that i’m starving my self or i am anorexic when i actually spend a lot of time eating! TUNE THEIR NEGATIVITY OUT.

Don’t sweat it man. People who don’t have enough heart and dedication to get into the shape they want to be in will always try to bring down those that do in any way they can. Some people are born small. You started off as a little guy, and you worked hard and made do with what you had. Don’t let anyone bring you down.

I get this all the time from strangers, friends and family, but I workout for my health and my own personal goals.

I can definitely relate to this. A couple months ago ,I was trying to get ripped. Someone told me I looked skinnier. To me, that was a low blow. I started a bulking phase immediately…lol
