What is everyones problem

This is really starting to get on my nerves and I know everyone means well but still…..  I eat I really do! So why does everyone have to follow me around to make sure I am stuffing food in my face all the time?  When I left the Navy I was sitting at a cushy 150-155, I had a nice round face, nice round booty, thunder thighs to boot.  I started to loose weight around Halloween 2007 and everyone started to become worried about me, saying OMG what is happening to Stephanie, something is wrong with her, she doesnt look right, this isnt healthy for her to be loosing weight like this.  Well I started back working April 14th where I was when I was on active duty and one of the doctors is constantly saying "are you eating?" "are you eating ENOUGH?" "your face is way too thin!" I have even had a full blood work up done because of having the weight coming off too fast back in Jan so I know I dont have a thyroid problem or any other underlying problem.  But geez, now I have my husband following me around with food shoving food in my mouth all the time saying if your going to be lifint weights you need to eat.  Like tonight I had one piece of pizza, I was full after that but NOOOOOOOOOOO he said you need to eat more than one piece so to satisfy him I ate another piece.  WTF…. why cant people just leave me alone.  I am eating, I eat breakfast, a snack, lunch, a snack and dinner.  GEEZ, get off my back!  Now i have him sitting here next to me on his laptop ordering some protein for me "just to make sure I am getting enough protein in my diet"  so I dont have to hear crap from anyone anymore!  Who would have thought trying to get in better shape would be such a PITA! I mean seriously!  Its almost easier to be fat and deal with just giving yourself a shot for diabeties than to get harassed by everyone!

Well since you work in a clinic full of medical professionals that have went through years of school. I am pretty sure they know a little bit about health. Well I stay on you because I do not want you being unhealthy. The Olsen twins are skinny too. Skinny is not healthy. You said you wanted to get in shape and compete in three months. Well you need to add some muscle and like quick if your going to do so. A small bowl of cereal and a half slice of pizza is not a days worth of food. Well either you want the help or not. I just want you healthy I plan on having you around for many many years.

Steph, I believe if you feel happy with yourself, that is awesome. You can not make other people happy, and you be unsatisfied. Now you are eating clean and healthy, which means your body fat is going to drop and muscles are going to look leaner. I think it is a myth about the more you eat the healthy you are. It is not the amount of food, it is the quality. I would say, talk to your husband and explain how you feel, that will avoid possible problems in the future and both will be happy. You are looking great!

Well..read your blog here and checked out your pics and I have a few things to say..for what ever they are worth.
    1) At no point have you benn even vagly lardy..a nice plump butt without lard is a wonderfull thing..but hard to keep without sag as you get older.
    2) Droping weight quickly often freeks people out quickly…especealy desk bound lard asses!
    3) If you focus on lifting and gaining muscle and totaly forget about the scale (Throw the thing out if you have to) and eat enough to be a little over what you need to maintain your present weight you will put on more muscle which will make you weigh a little more bau will consoquently eat the lard so you will look a little thinner in the abb range. Then you can tell people "I GAINED weight, so shut the F@$K up!!!"
4)My only negative comment would be to work on adding some muscle to your arms and calves..but it is your body(And your husbands) not mine.
    5) My wife gets on me constantly about the opposit side..and I look like I can bench the 450lbs that I can lift so higher calories then her 110 lb frame are sort of needed?
Remember..the lard asses and week willed will always try to rip down those of us who bother to acheve something. And on that note..avoid planit fitness!!!

    Rock on!

You could always do what I did for awhile in fact I suggest you do, just in case you’re wrong and you really aren’t eating enough….

track everything you eat on Fitday.com for a week, it’ll give you your totals and you’ll have evidence to dispute the "you’re not eating enough" rumor.
    Estimates of caloric needs:
based on the weight and BF % listed in your profile you’re BMR is 1347 cals a day (that’s just to cover breathing and laying in bed all day) Add in daily excercise and you’re TDEE is about 2021 cals for maintenance, and then you can safely knock off up to 500 cals for a deficit leaving you needing 1521 calories a day for fat loss. Anything significantly below that could be detrimental to your progress (you could go catabolic or at least send your body into the famed "starvation mode" or so they say)

you certainly do not look like you aren’t eating enough, you look great, and your hubby is obviously just concerned for your well being.

At least when he’s making suggestions, try to forget that other people other people are giving you crap about not eating enough. Everyone else should mind their own business ( I guess that includes me too heh!)

    1. It depends on what you are eating. If your husband is right and you only ate "A small bowl of cereal and a half slice of pizza" than he is right, that is not enough.
    2. Anybody that does not work out will see your weight loss as a problem. As a country we are getting larger not smaller.
    3. Doctors do not always know what is right. In fact, I believe doctors are usually wrong when it comes to weight lifting and losing weight. I have talked to more than one doctor and they tend to believe alot of studies that are significantly flawed (not double blind, less than a thousand participants, not taking other contributing factors into consideration, etc). Not all doctors are wrong but I have met more than a few and they do tend to be wrong often.
    4. I agree with wal3l3it , you need to document what you are eating, including calories, % of fat, % of carbs and proteins. You may be losing muscle as well as fat if you are not eating right.

Overall, I am not going to judge if I think you are eating right since I believe there is not enough evidence either way. If you really want to know, you will have to start a log and measure what you are eating.

I agree with Tom and wabbit–track your eating, even if for 3 days instead of 7. It will give you an idea of what you’re eating and go from there. I know I was WAY surprised at mine when I first started lifting/playing with the idea of competing.

Building involves eating WAY more than you feel like, but it’s necessary to fuel muscle building. Have you ever been to a local comp, or seen one of the webcasts on bodybuilding.com? Those ladies are BUILT and it’s kinda crazy, but totally awesome. Just know that should you choose to pursue it, you will be stuffing your face and not wanting to do so :)
