Shoulder Problems! Any Advice?

Hey everybody, about 2 chest workouts ago, i realised my right shoulder was giving me some greif on the bench press. The first time, I figured it was just a bad day and worked through it without much thought. and then just the other day i was working chest again and on the bench press it was much more noticeable than the first time. i dont think its a muscle issue because its not the same as being sore from a good workout. it feels like its my shoulder joint thats unhappy with me, but i dont remember doing anything to it that would have hurt it. can anybody maybe give me some advice about little things that i can do to help or maybe some other exercises that will allow me to still work chest and shoulders without aggrivating it anymore? any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated. thank you!

    Same thing happened to me.
It sounds like an inpingement in the shoulder. Are you doing barbell bench presses?
If so, switch to dumbells. I didn’t like doing it, as I love using bb’s, but once I got used to using db’s, I really liked it and I haven’t looked back.
Also, check out your posture. When you stand straight up, do you tend to have your shoulders lean forward? If so, you need better ballance. Work your rear delts and your back more.

I learned all of this from my chiropracter who works on John Stockton. www.chiromat.com

I had my pain for many months. I could still bench, but the pain was annoying. He told me to do these things and that my pain would go away within a month. It did. It is completely gone now.

rest it, stretch the surrounding muscles and work the rotator-cuff muscle group if you are not doing so already.

I would definitely wok on the rotator cuff. There are some easy low resistance band exercises that help strengthen the shoulder joint. Ice every night…Good luck!!!
