OMG… ABS
ok so my least favorite part of me happens to be the part which i have decided to torture today… my abs… working abs isn’t by any means pleasant but i am looking to expand my ab workout a little to work different areas now that i have my diet in check.. i have been shedding fat for a while so i feel like it is great timing to work on these…
my only problem… every time i work abs i walk around miserable for some time.. even though i can feel them under there just waiting to bust out it still is miserable…hehe..
i need to start working more of my lower abs.. so i need some suggestions… what does everyone seem to think works best for them??? i have been doing a variety of things but they seem to be working more of the mid to upper abs… short of hanging leg raises i am stumped… thoughts???

Hi regarding ab workout. Here is what I do…
I use the inverted bench. I always warm up with it at the lowest most horizontal level. I do that so I don’t pull or overstress anything. my lower abs are always a little tender and sore because I workout 3 times everyday.
*actually, I should mention that I always begin every workout with at least 15-20 min of high intensity cardio… that gets my core and muscles all warmed up.
I start with a set of simple situps with my arms criss-crossed "X" tight to my chest. When I go down I keep my eyes on the ceiling which prevent my head and neck from trying to leverage my body forward. This forces my lower abs to pull my upper body up instead of my upper abs.
For my second set I raise the bench up a notch and do the same thing. and keep doing that for 4 sets total (my sets are 20 reps each but everyone is diff).
Then I lower the bench all the way down again and I use a 25 lb plate on my chest and go through it all over again.
Then, my following workout I do the hand behind my head situp while I twist my torso with elbow to opposit knee. I do a few sets where I don’t twist and I just go straight up and down. This does the obliques and upper abs.
When I keep my eyes focused on some point on the ceiling I can REALLY feel those lower abs getting stretched and worked.
Hope that helps. Your looking great! I was looking at your dec 08 photos compared with your most current photos and the change is incredible. Your abs are already showing and your belly button area is MUCH firmer looking. So your doing really great! Lots of cardio I’m guessing.
