Tuesday-December 1, 2009-Beautiful Day!

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

It was a beautiful day outside! I had a great workout—planche training and chest. It turns out, however, that it was still too wet to get in a really good run! Being this is the last workout week of the cycle, I want to get everything in! It is going to be a little tough because I will be staying with my Grandmother over the next week and a half. So, I will be off and on here and the updates may not come as quickly.

I hope everyone is having a great week so far.

Monday-November 30, 2009-Rainy Day Workout!—Again!

Monday, November 30th, 2009

According to the statistics, this November has been on of the rainiest recorded for this area! Today dawned sunny and bright. I was very enthused about getting out into the sunlight to do my chin-ups and cardio. But alas, it was not to be! :) By the time I had completed the third set of my arm and shoulder workout, the clouds had rolled in and it began to rain. I put on my rain gear and headed outside to complete my cardio.

Overall, I had a good solid workout! I’m actually feeling a little sore today! The 2-mile run was slow because of the conditions, but I got it done! I’m happy with where I am during the last week of Cycle14! I’m looking forward to making some changes to the 15th cycle.

I hope everyone is having a great Monday!

Here is what I did today:

3 x 25 Hammer Curls

3 x 25 Overhead Triceps Extensions

Other than that, nothing else is going on with the workout. I’m looking forward to my week off. It will be good to get some rest and hopefully recover from all that I’ve been through this past six weeks.

Friday-November 26, 2009-Make-up Day

Friday, November 27th, 2009

I completed my missed ab workout, did planche push-up training, and worked my back. It rained torrentially last night and I only managed to get in my 3-mile run because the ground was too wet. I will do a double cardio session on Sunday to make it up.

Overall, I did very well on Thanksgiving! I was so tired I didn’t feel like eating much! So, I guess yesterday’s missed workout was not as big a deal as I was feeling at the time. Today, went over and spent time with Grandma. Today, was a rare tough day of dialysis for her. She was rather tired. Got her fed, and massaged her legs and feet, gave her her meds, eyedrops and finally put her to bed. LOL! :) She was knocked out (snoring) when I left.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Wednesday-November 25, 2009-Leg Workout Complete

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

Today was my day to ride with my Grandmother to dialysis. She is progressing wonderfully and is mostly back to her old fiesty self. I appreciate all of the well wishes and inquiries about her condition. I had planned to do my leg workout and then come home and do my cardio. As is often the case, however, I ended up staying with Grandma for a while after getting her home. She was hungry and it is important that she get a good meal, particularly with protein. So, I made sure she ate and was comfortable, the house clean and dishes washed. When I got home it was dark and I could not do my cardio. I am extremely thankful to be able to do what I do for my Grandma, mother, and the rest of my family. I will simply double up on my cardio on tomorrow morning and enjoy a great meal or meal(s) I should say!

I WISH EVERYONE HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Here is what I did today:

3 x 20 Squats

3 x 20 Calf raisers-bricks

3 x 1.5 min. Static Squats

Tuesday-November 24, 2009-Another Rainy Day Workout!

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

I had another great workout. I added dips to my chest workout today! I also completed my first planche push-up training for the week. This also went very well. With this training, I still have to realize that I need to be patient! Once again it is rainy out and is supposed to be for the remainder of the week! Since the rain is not especially hard and it is not windy, I continue with my cardio. Once again I pushed myself in the run to see how fast I could go. I realize that I’ve been slacking a little on the runs over the past month or so. After the run yesterday, my legs were sore which let me know that I had not been pushing them during the runs. I decided to day to try to run through the soreness. It was a great run. I managed to finish 3-miles in 20:53! Once again, this is a sub 7 minute mile pace!

I took a few pics outside in the rain so that I can change my profile pics up. LOL! :) Hopefully, by Sunday I will be able to take some good progress pics. It will be interesting to see how I will look after Thanksgiving! ;) I’m trying to watch what I eat over the next few days so that I can eat what I want on Thursday. Plus, Thursday is a REGULAR workout day for me…abs!

The other thing that shocked me today is I marked off my workout and realized that next week is the last week of my 14th six-week workout cycle. I probably will end up taking two weeks off before starting cycle 15. I want to stay with my Grandmother until my aunt gets down here from Boston. My aunt stays with my Grandmother through the winter months until spring. I will keep my BS friends posted.

I hope everyone is having a great day today!

Here is what I did today:

3 x 35 Push-ups-Weighted

3 x 35 Push-ups Inclined

3 x 20 Dips

Tuck Planche

3 x 30 seconds*

Monday-November 23, 2009-Rainy Day Workout!

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

I had a great arm and shoulder workout! Although it was rainy, it was nothing like Ida! I was able to get out and do my chin-ups and my cardio. I pushed myself on my 2-mile run today. After a couple of bad runs last week, I decided I’d rest an extra day (yesterday). The legs felt really good today after resting. I was very pleased to bring in my 2-mile run in 13:59! LOL! That is under a 7:00 minute mile pace! :) …6:59.5! We’ll see if I can better the pace during my 3-mile run on tomorrow.

I’m also excited because I figured out a way to do dips using the chair in my room! I did 2 sets of 10 today! I will be integrating them into my workout. The question is should I use them during my arm or my chest workout? Both?

I’m wishing everyone a great week! And hope that everyone is making plans to deal with the day of feasting! I will do Eat-Stop-Eat (google Brad Pilon) from Wednesday evening until Thursday dinner. My workout schedule will not change! I will do a full workout on Thanksgiving morning and am THANKFUL that at my age ;) I’m still able to do it! :)

Friday-November 20, 2009-Redemption!

Friday, November 20th, 2009

Today’s workout more than made up for yesterday’s. I felt really bad about the workout. I know that we can’t be "on" all of the time. I had been spoiled by a pretty long string of great workouts. I guess missing meals and attending to a lot of family business takes its toll. Today, however, I felt a sense of redemption. :)

I hit the back pretty hard and had a great planche push-up training session. I did my cardio, including the intervals, agility drills, etc., etc. I expected to have another poor run like I did yesterday, but had one of my better 2-mile runs today! I guess we can never quite figure things out! I ran a 14:45 2-mile today and was extremely surprised and happy.

Overall, as I move into the last two weeks of this exercise cycle, I’m happy with the consistency that I’ve been able to maintain in spite of some very tough circumstances. I’m looking forward to tweaking workouts for the next cycle. I figured out a way to do dips in my room and will be adding a chest workout using them during next cycle. I will keep chipping away at the planche training. I’m positive that I will reach my goals in 2010 as far as achieving the push-up is concerned.

Anyway, I wish everyone a great weekend!

Here is what I did today:

3 x 25 Dead Lifts (db)

3 x 25 Push-up Rows  3 x 25 Reverse Push-ups

3 x 12 Pull-ups

2 x 18 Pull-ups

Thursday-November 19, 2009-Great ab workout, HORRIBLE run!

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

Today, I hit my abs really hard, concentrating on all of the contractions and the various twisting exercises. When it came to the run, however, the energy was just not there. It reminded of the days when I was younger and HATED to run. Nevertheless, I managed to hang in and still was surprised to find I finished it in 23:10! Not the 22:00 of the other day, but given how I was feeling, I will take it!

I realized today that although the diet is NOT as clean as it should be, I’m really not eating much. Took a few pics today to see how I was looking and was sort of surprised. They are not too bad! Today and tomorrow I will concentrate on eating clean and then do 24 hours of EAT-STOP-EAT (basically liquids for 24 hours) to jumpstart my fat burning again.

Hope everyone had a great Thursday. Tomorrow is FRIDAY and I am looking forward to it! Take care everyone!

Here is what I did today:

(Circuit w/2 minutes rest)

3 x 35 Push-ups-Weighted
3 x 40   Half-Burpees
3 x 100 Reverse Crunch
3 x 100 Oblique Crunch
3 x 100 Crunch
3 x 100 Trunk Twisters
3 x 100 Side Bends

Cardio:

3 Mile run
