As I type this blog, I am at the Hutchens Chevrolet in Newport News, Virginia waiting for my stepfather's car to be serviced. Saturn Aura's had a recall that needed to be repaired. Of course, I was the one to get it done! LOL! I left him at home snug in his bed. Mom, had just gotten up when I was leaving.

I, however, had been up since 5 o'clock this morning. I took care on yesterday to do some of my usual morning routine early, so that I would have more time to prepare for my trip this morning.  Service was scheduled for 9:30 this morning, I got here slightly later. Google maps threw me a curve. Sent me on a "U-turn" where there should have been none. LOL!

The low temperature was 16 degrees. It was 18 when I got up. I took the dog out, got him fed, made coffee, finished up what remained of my morning routine and then started my stretching routine. After that, I was outside in the 18 degree temperatures to get in the 2-mile walk. However, I decided that I would get in faster if  I took the a 1-mile walk and a 1-mile run! LOL! I got out there and set a brisk pace for the mile walk and then hit the run. I did not bring my mp3 player out this morning. I decided to do the workout without the music. Interestingly enough, the pounding of my feet on the frozen ground created a nice rhythm and I was able to get the run completed in a surprising 6:15! This actually bodes well for me once, the regular cycles start again with the 2 and 3 mile runs added back to the cardio mix. I was outside a total of 15 minutes. My fingers, in spite of having some Thinsulate gloves on were FREEZING!

The hot shower felt GREAT! LOL! After that I was dressed and on the highway. Since I am out and have not eaten, I may find me something suitably healthy to eat and run around to a couple of stores before driving home. Right now the temperatures have finally fought into the 20s and it is sunny and beautiful.
