Thursday-January 17, 2012-Day 4 of Rain and the Tabata Went On!
I have noticed that our winters in Virginia have changed. For the past 3-4 years, I have noted that we get a lot of rain. I have started referring to our winters as "rainy seasons." It explains also to some degree how we are able, at least in my neck of the woods," to stay so green throughout the spring and summer in spite of limited rainfall. That being said, this is the longest extended period of steady rainfall that I can remember in recent years. Last night there was a bit of a break in the rainfall. However, when I got up and out with the dog this morning at around 5:15, there was a very steady downpour. I am proud to say that, in spite of the weather, I have gotten in my Intercycle workouts, such as they are. Tonight the rain turns to snow. We are expecting 2-5 inches before it ends between 3:00 and 4:00 am. THEN, the sun is supposed to come out tomorrow with temperatures down in the 40s.
Today, I got out there and got the treacherous 1-mile walk in. You would not believe how many times my foot went down into the ground almost to the ankle! After that, I was able to go into the driveway and get in the Tabata workout and cardio. I still hit it pretty hard and had broke into a pretty good sweat. After the workout, I knew I needed to get some new profile pictures and decided to get out there in the rainy weather and take some shots. My face in the banner picture looks as it does because of the rain hitting it. I thought I had done a better job of playing it off! LOL! We will see how I look tomorrow. If there is any snow left on tomorrow, I will take a picture out there (Vinny2020, I am calling you out! Get that snow picture! LOL
).
Tomorrow is the last full bodyweight workout of this first Intercycle week. I might end up doing Tabata Cardio instead of trying to walk and run. If that happens, I will do the walk and run on Sunday.
Those of you who might be in the "snow zone," be careful out there. Luckily, I went out to the store on yesterday and we are pretty well set for the colder weather. We have a big pot of bean soup on and I am looking forward to a good bowl for dinner! LOL!
Have a great Thursday!
