Monday-January 14, 2013-Intercycle Tabata Day
I have been working to get my sleep patterns back on track. I have been sleeping well---too well. I had allowed my bedtime to creep back up to 10:30-11:00 pm and that is not good if one wants to get up refreshed at 5:00 am. Over the past three days, I allowed myself to stay in bed until 6:00 am. I did not want this to become a habit and knew I needed to get my old butt in bed. Last night, I got in the bed at 9:30 and was wide awake on time at 5:00 o'clock this morning. This allowed me to get the morning routine completed in my more "normal" early time.
I took care of a bunch of business for my parents this morning and then proceeded to my Tabata workout. This workout is essentially the same one that I use during my regular cycles. I take out the plyometric workout during Intercycle. I tend to experiment during my Intercycles and decided to see how I would feel if I went from my Tabata workout immediately into the Tabata cardio. I did my stretching regimen and went outside and did it. It was not comfortable, but felt pretty good. In 12 minutes, I had a good sweat going. That actually was not that hard this morning since it was near 60 degrees during my workout. After I completed this, I took a 1-mile walk and was done for the day.......ALMOST! LOL! My stepfather has a pair of shoes almost as old as I am and their sole is coming off. Instead of trashing them, he wanted to glue the sole back on! As I age, I am beginning to understand having attachments to certain things, but I hope I know WHEN to throw something away! LOL!
Anyway, this necessitated a trip to the store to purchase some heavy duty glue. I decided that I would see what mom wanted while I was out and took her list out with me. This probably saved me another trip to the store later! LOL! Anyway, I got home and worked on the shoe. I will glue the other one a bit later. It is not in as bad a shape.
Good thing I got out there and got everything done. It has started to rain and it is, at times, very heavy. This is the cutting edge of a cold front. This means we can look for a 20-30 degree drop in temperatures over the next few days. Tomorrow's full bodyweight workout with some bar exercises & 1-mile walk could be a chilly affair.
My diet has been pretty good. I took a few "gallery" pictures to prove it to myself. LOL! I may post 1 or 2 of them for some feedback.
Well, I am off to do some more work on Cycles 31 & 32. I am convinced that Teagen Rose's ab workout is doable, but will kill me for the first few times I do it. I am not as confident about the chest finisher from Funk Roberts. I was watching him do those dive-bombers and Hindu push-ups. He does this thing almost Tabata style-four exercises 30 seconds each, twice with no break, for a total of 4 minutes. I am going to give the exercises a try at some point this week before definitely adding them to the workout cycles.
I am wishing everyone a most wonderful Monday afternoon and evening!
Here is what I did today:
Seems like the old saying is still true. Early to bed means early to rise! lol.. Also I'm borrowing your Tabata Workouts for the next few weeks. lol
