After sleeping so poorly on Saturday night and failing at any point on Sunday to get a nap, I stayed in bed an hour late this morning. If I do this, I generally can kick it into gear and get everything done in time to hit the workout at a reasonable time. This is EXACTLY what I did! I got the morning routine done and powered through the "inside" portion of today's arm and shoulder workout. I got ready to go outside for my varied and mixed cardio activities, that end with a 1-mile walk and 3-mile run, my course was blocked. My stepfather had decided, unbeknownst to us, to sell an old tractor that he no longer used and had parked in the woods on our property. We "country" folks seem to keep old farm equipment and cars in the woods! LOL! I guess we never know when they will bring in a bit of money. Anyway, the gentleman brought in his huge tow truck to haul the tractor away and it took well over an hour before the tractor was on the truck. I went outside to one part of the yard and got in the rope jumping, windmills, and jumping jacks. I went to our driveway to do my agility drills and sprints. I forgot to bring my gloves outside so I did not do the broad jump burpees in the driveway. By the time I got all of this done, the tractor had been securely loaded on the tow truck and was on its way out of our yard and my course. I went inside got the gloves, came back out and started the 1-mile walk. For the first 3 laps I did 40 yards of broad jump burpees, then finished out the mile walk before hitting my 2-mile run.
My 2-mile run was the highlight of a very fractured workout today. My legs felt GREAT, perhaps the best they have felt throughout the entire cycle. All I know is that the run was really good. I was happy with the 6:08 mile I ran on yesterday, but was really happy today when I finished my 2-miles in 11:48 (5:54 mile pace). This is still no where near my 11:29 2-mile personal best, but I will take it! LOL!
I came in and ate a bowl of Cheerios mixed with Wheaties with some non-fat milk. I have no clue as to why I have been on this cold cereal kick as of late. I have plenty of oats and other healthy breakfast foods, but have been wanting to eat the cold cereal. This will pass! LOL!
Tomorrow is the final chest and back workout of the cycle to be followed by the next to the last 3-mile run of the cycle. Hopefully, I will get in another decent run, before devastating my legs on Wednesday.
