Tuesday-January 1, 2013-So THIS is 2013! LOL!
I slept through all of the televised pre and post New Year's celebrations. I was up a little before 5 o'clock again this morning. I got the coffee started and got the dog out for his morning romp and "potty" break. While we were out there, it began to rain. I was hoping that it would be mainly drizzle, but by the time I got the morning routine completed, it had been steadily raining for a couple of hours. I got the workout gear on, completed my stretches and push-ups indoors and then headed outside for the remainder of my workout. I got in 3 sets of 15 each of those wide and close grip pull-ups, the 1-mile walk and got ready for my run on the slippery, messy course. I decided to take the run easy and rather enjoyed the rain and my mp3 player as I slogged my way to a 21:21 (7:07 mile pace) finish! When I run like I ran today, it feels like I can run for miles, not that I want to do that! 
After completing the workout, I was DRAFTED! LOL! For the first time in many years, we greeted the new year without one new calendar in the house. So I had to go out and buy calendars, which meant in addition to the calendars, I would have a list of other things to pick up. So I was off shopping. Upon returning home, I asked to "finish up" the cooking! After I did that, I went out in what was left of the daylight hours to take a few profile pictures. Not my best work, but they will suffice until Friday, when week 5 of Cycle 30 ends! Anyway, after all of that I am just now blogging. I was thinking, "So THIS is 2013!" Right now it is feeling remarkably like 2012!
It actually is my pleasure to take care of my folks and considering the year we had in 2012, I am grateful that we are together and healthy as 2013 begins.
I began working on my diet today. I figure I might as well begin preparing for the 12 week Transformation contest now and regain my dietary discipline. I can always tell if I have overindulged by looking at my profile and progress pictures. The abs are still there, but they are not sharp. So it is time to take action!
Tomorrow I will hit my legs and 3-mile interval run. After that, my stepfather wants to go look at a lawn mower. For whatever reason, he is stuck on the idea of a "zero turn" mower. I simply want one that works! LOL!
We will see how that turns out!
Once again, I wish you and yours the very best that 2013 has to offer. Let's get those goals written and posted, so that we can meet and exceed them.
