Friday-December 28, 2012-Tabata & Plyo Day---Brutally Effective
I indulged in too much television last night! I have been toying with following "Person of Interest" for weeks. When I watch, it puts me right up against my 10:00 pm bedtime and I wake up a bit tired and sometimes late on the next day! LOL!
The "wheels within wheels," the pervasive "foreboding" feel of the series, and the mysterious characters have hooked me. I also, however, hate to follow some shows because, out of nowhere, they get cancelled, leaving a host of unanswered questions. Well, in spite of the late bedtime, I did get up, push through the morning routine, and to to that Tabata and Plyo workout. I find it a great workout to end my weeks with because it is short, to the point and brutal. Once, I start that Gymboss timer for the workout and, a little later, for that high stepping sprinting in place, there is no going back until it is over. Today, my legs were begging for mercy! I even felt my wittle bitty chest complaining as I tried to squeeze in as many push-ups as possible in the 20 second intervals of time. The 10 seconds of rest becoming increasingly "shorter" in my mind and I am moving again before I catch my breath....BRUTAL, but EFFECTIVE! LOL!
Thus ends week 4 of Cycle 30!
I will be adding the 300 (reps) workout back during Cycles 31 and 32, this is an equally brutal workout and is timed. I have to dig around and find my personal best, but I think I managed to get all 300 reps done in 17 minutes and some odd seconds. I will begin alternating this with the Tabata and Plyo workouts, which should keep me challenged.
I wish you all could see YOUR activity on my "dashboard." You guys are getting it DONE! I am glad that the bodyspace redesign has final worked in increasing interactivity on here. The old sense of community is coming back! Plus, it is motivating for me to see what you all are doing or contemplating in the way of workouts. I hope we all keep up the momentum and that we keep encouraging one another through the coming year!
Those of you who have followed me know that the end of 2011 through most of 2012 have not been the best for me. I have found myself reviewing a great deal of what I experienced over the past year. I am thankful that my arm and shoulder continues to heal, to grow stronger and larger, and to remain mostly pain free. I also am still missing my lost relatives, especially my Grandmother, but thank you all for your prayers and encouragement. That kept me praying and working out and helped me to begin to heal!
Just a reminder to get your GOALS (Health, Fitness, & otherwise) for 2013 developed AND written down. After that post them where you can see them! Having them where you can see them will bug you enough to get moving on them!
I hope that you all enjoy (in moderation) the last weekend of 2012!
