Today dawned sunny, windy, but cold! It was a wonderful change from yesterday, which was just rainy, dark and cold. Because of the wind, my running course had dried out almost completely. However, before getting to the run this morning, I worked the abs pretty hard. I am surprised, to some degree, that I have not yet seemed to recapture my previous level of fitness in my abs. Part of this is probably due to the fact that I am not doing any planche push-up training, and that I have yet to really get back to all of my pre-injury level ab routines. I will do some things with Cycles 31 and 32 to add a bit more rigor to the least effective ab workout. So, my abs are slightly sore, but I feel like I had a great workout. After hitting the abs and stretches, I went outside for my 1-mile walk and 3-mile run.
Today I knew Wednesday's leg workout was effective when I began that 1-mile walk and finished up with that 3-mile run. My quads felt like they were loaded with lead. LOL! Although my breathing and pace was decent, I could not get any more out of them during the run than I did. It was a good, comfortable, "miserable" run! I suspect that after the legs rest this weekend, Tuesday's run will be outstanding. Today, I managed to keep the 3-miles just under 21:00, which is REALLY slow for me! I finished in 20:54 (6:58 mile pace).
Tomorrow is Tabata and Plyometrics day---Short, sweet, but brutal! LOL! My capstone workout, that signals the end of the week! Although tough, I look forward to it. I know once it is done, the rest and rejuvenation can begin. I am seriously contemplating adding back the 300 workout on odd Fridays during the Cycles 31 and 32. This will I hope add some new challenges and opportunities for growth during my Transformation challenge. The 25 pull-ups will still be a challenge, but I will find a way to get them in. The 300 is timed, so I will get used to a slow time until I get back used to doing all of its elements. More on my plans for Cycle 31 and 32 as I put them together.
I managed to get some profile pictures today. It was so sunny that I had to play around with the camera settings to keep the abs from washing out. I accomplished this to varying degrees depending on the picture. Anyway, I am waiting for my new camera to arrive and will be playing around with that, hopefully by this weekend or early next week.
