Tuesday-December 11, 2012-Miscellanea & The Workout
I did not get to bed until 12:30 this morning. I was on a mission last night trying to find a good refurbished Canon digital camera. My current camera, a Canon Powershot 1000 IS, still takes very good pictures. However, the door for the compartment where the batteries are loaded is chipped and does not close correctly unless aided by some tape. LOL!
If the door is not taped shut, it will not come on. I have for months, been taking my pictures with it, but am tired of the constant taping of the door. I started at 10:00 pm last night on my search on Amazon.com and e-bay and after finding 8 suitable candidates to replace my current camera, each a slight step up from the one that I am using now, realized that it was 12:30 am! I got my butt in the bed and slept until 5:45. I then got up and got moving on the morning routine. I was working out at about 10:15 this morning. That was not too bad.
I also repaired my tripod on yesterday. The legs screw in and one of them no longer stayed in its socket because the connections were stripped. J.B. Weld did wonders in repairing the socket and the leg now is actually in better shape than when I purchased the tripod. LOL! This is probably, in retrospect, what drove me to start looking for a camera. I really was not too excited about the prospect of getting another camera AND a tripod. Now that I don't need to buy a tripod, I can focus on getting a camera. Any suggestions would be appreciated on the camera front.
The workouts have settled into a groove. As I have said many times, most workouts are rather "ordinary," no high highs or low lows! LOL!
I am in THAT place for this cycle after having an outstanding week of workouts last week. Today, I hit the push-ups---regular and inclined. I did them fairly slowly with very good form, which really burned the chest today. After the stretching regimen, I was outside for the close and wide grip pull-ups, which I also did with very good form, making sure that I felt them in my back and lats, especially. I also realize, as with the chin-ups on yesterday, that I can safely increase my reps to 3 x 15 of the close and wide grip push-ups, instead of 3 x 12. I am really excited about my strength returning. I also see a difference in my pictures as well. I want the forward momentum to continue. After the pull-ups and 1-mile walk, I settled in for a surprisingly comfortable and decent, not great, 3-mile run. I decided that I need to pull back a little on the runs until my legs get used to the traveling lunges. The impact on my quads, especially, has been tremendous. I can see, with the one week of them, difference in my quads in my progress and profile pictures. Tomorrow is leg day with those bleeping squat thrusts and quad squats wearing the 20-pound vest, followed by the 3-mile interval run featuring traveling lunges. But I am ahead of myself. So back to today's run. Once again, it was EASY, and a little faster than last Thursday's run. I managed to get it done in 20:12 (6:44 mile pace). It was a good easy pace to maintain. I will try to do the same on Thursday.
Tomorrow is HUMP DAY! I am hoping everyone has enough in the tank to hang on until Friday!
In the meantime, enjoy the remainder of this Tuesday.
Here is what I did today:
- 3 x 35 Push-ups (Slow reps)

I like to look for equipment on e-bay or amazon. Amazon is now beating e-bay's prices. Awesome pic!!
