I got up at 5:45 this morning after staying up past my bedtime to watch the conclusion of The Amazing Race. I should have gone to bed. I really expected, in a 2-hour show, to see the contestants really PHYSICALLY challenged---very WEAK ending! But, I move on! LOL! Needless to say, bedtime is 9:30 tonight. In spite of the late start, I managed to get back on track. By noon the workout was done and I was on my way to Petersburg to run some errands for the folks. I got back and ordered a part for our stove, got a light meal, and am now finally blogging for today.
Today is the my all chin-up day---3 sets of 12 each of wide and close grip chin-ups for a total of 72. Still a far cry from the 150 that I was doing before the arm and shoulder injury. The chin-ups work, of course, my biceps and back. I do them with very good form in order to feel every one of them. I noticed today, however, that I have regained a great deal of strength in my arms. For the first half of this cycle, I set chin-up and pull-up reps to 3 x 12. I burned through the 12 on all sets with relative ease. I will go to 15 reps for chin-ups and pull-ups for the second half of Cycle 30. As soon as I work my way back up to being able to do 25 pull-ups in a set, I will add the 300 (reps) Workout by to my workout cycles. This particular workout requires 2 sets of 25. My arms and shoulders felt great during the workout and there was no pain after completing my reps.
The run was SLOW today. It was so slow in fact that I thought I had miscounted my laps and had run an extra lap! LOL! When, however, I calculated my 1-mile pace based upon 11 laps, I KNEW I was just slow. I know that I did not run an 11:54 mile---yet! I still did not feel particularly slow. Today I finished the run in 13:06 (6:33 mile pace). I will be watching my pace closely on tomorrow to see how the 3-mile run goes. I must admit that the legs are once again sore after today's workout. Prior to the run, I hit rope jumping, jumping jacks, windmills, broad jump burpees, agility drills and sprints. So I am OFF the old legs for the rest of the night! LOL!
Tomorrow is chest day. Push-ups with the weighted vest and other, hopefully, chest enhancing moves! LOL!
