Tuesday-November 6, 2012-Cycle 29 "Officially" Complete!
This morning at 5:00 am, I got up to my perfectly brewed coffee! LOL! I took the dog out into the frigid back yard to do his business. It was 29 degrees with a breeze. So you know it felt colder than that. I was glad to get back into the house and have that hot cup of coffee. I pushed through my morning routine and a few extra household chores for the folks and then got into my workout clothes.
Today's workout was the final of the three that I missed last week and marked the official end of Cycle 29. Today I hit abs and hit them surprisingly HARD! They burned like crazy during the workout today. That is good in that I know the abs got a great workout. It is bad in that I now KNOW how far my core conditioning has fallen from my pre-injury days. My goals during this next workout cycle is to get the core back strong. I want to begin planche push-up training again in 2013, but it is imperative that my core, arms and shoulders be able to tolerate the training.
After hitting the abs and stretching, I went outside for my 1-mile walk and final 3-mile run of this cycle. It was still fairly cold outside, which is what I like. I am just surprised that we are getting these temperatures so early for us in this part of Virginia. The temperatures have not been out of the mid-forties by the day. It did make great running weather. I picked up the pace slightly for the 3-mile run and easily did it in 19:36 (6:32 mile pace). Once again, I can say it was an enjoyable run. There is something invigorating about feeling the cold air hitting your face as you run.
Tomorrow and Thursday, I will do some very light bodyweight and bar work. I will conclude with a 1-mile walk and run. Friday, I am contemplating a Tabata workout. Sunday, I will begin my 2-week active recovery Intercycle, and will be getting ready for Cycle 30. This will get me through the end of 2012. January 2013 will find me in an Intercycle and looking forward to a mid-January start to Cycle 31. This year as flown by!
I hope that everyone has had a great day thus far. I am going to relax a little before going to cook the folks' dinner. I got "drafted" to cook! LOL!
Have a great day!
