Friday-January 27, 2012-300 Workout Ends First Half of Cycle 27!
Rain was forecast for last night! It was supposed have been raining when I got up this morning. It was not. I took the dog out early this morning to temperatures, even around 5:00 am, in the sixties. It was, however, cloudy. I thought I'd be able to rapidly get the morning routine done and get the 300 workout finished before the rain began. I pushed through the morning's tasks, ended the prayers only to hear the torrential downpour on the roof. The forecast, was for everything to be done and over with before noon. Sure enough, at around 10:30, the rain ceased and it began to clear a bit. I hit my 450 (5 x 90) push-ups and stretched before going outside to prep for the 300 workout. After I completed the push-ups, I grabbed my 20-pound dumbbells, went outside got my piece of ply-board and placed it in front my chin-up bar. The ply-board was definitely needed since the ground was soaked. I should note that I used the 20-pound dumbbells to facilitate what seems to be my right arm's healing process. After the preparation, I dove into the 300 workout.
I have to say that the workout went fairly quickly. The first few of the exercises are part of my other workouts and today they just felt great. The clean and presses went a bit faster because of the lower weight. Hopefully, my arm will be better for the last 300 workout of the cycle in 2 weeks. I finished in 17:42 today. After that, I took my 1-mile warm up walk, which helped me find the LEAST wet part of my running course for my 2-mile run. Because I did, I managed to slip and slide my way to a 13:32 (6:46 mile pace). I could tell I ran in mud today after the run. The legs were throbbing pretty good after the workout.
I did submit my pictures for consideration for a spot on an over 40 fitness calendar. We'll see what happens.
I went to bed a little late after sitting up working on the book. It's now time for my nap! LOL!
Everyone have a great Friday!
