Tuesday-January 24, 2012-Chest and Back Workout!
I decided that, in preparation for tomorrow's double workout, I would do my normally scheduled chest and back workout. After getting the morning preliminaries done as usual, I began the workout. Today's workout consisted of plyometric push-ups, weighted (20 pound weighted vest), and 450 (5 x 90) regular push-ups for the chest. For the back I went outside and cranked out 125 (5 x 25) wide grip and 125 (5 x 25) close grip pull-ups. It turned out to be a very challenging, but good workout since it's been well over a month since I completed that many pull-ups.
I finished up the workout with a 1-mile walk, followed by a 3-mile run. I decided to do this workout to avoid having to complete 2 back-to-back 3-mile runs like I did last week after my double workout. In fact, I held back some on the run today and fully expected it to be around 21 plus minutes. I was surprised! I completed the run in 19:57 (6:39 mile pace). It was still in the 19s! Although BARELY! LOL!
Tomorrow is leg day. So part of the double will be the leg day. I will integrate my arm and shoulder workout and combine the cardio. This means a Monday's mixed cardio, a 2-mile run, and a 3-mile interval run. I am looking forward to getting it done and getting back on track with this weeks' workouts. Hopefully, with the beginning of the second half of the cycle, next week, I will become more consistent again with the workouts.
I hope everyone had a wonderful day! Here is what I did today:
